I still find myself searching for this album constantly, if I don't listen to at least a few tracks a day, I'm listening to the full album start to finish. Here's how I'd rate things at the moment, but not a dud in the mix:

Maroon

Bejeweled

You’re On Your Own, Kid

Karma

Lavender Haze

Mastermind

Anti-Hero

Snow On The Beach (feat. Lana Del Ray)

Bigger Than The Whole Sky

Paris

Dear Reader

Labyrinth

Vigilante Shit

Question…?

Midnight Rain

The Great War

Would’ve, Could’ve, Should’ve

Glitch

High Infidelity

Sweet Nothing

First listen review:

08.5 Lavender Haze | > Really liking this as an opener. Without hearing any of the other tracks prior, you can immediately tell what sound she's going for with this. <

09.0 Maroon | > This is so good. Potential to grow, despite loving it right from the start. <[/l]

10.0 Anti-Hero | > Yeahhhh, this is fantastic. LOOOOOVVVVEEEE! Perfect choice as the single to push from the album! <

08.0 Snow At The Beach (feat. Lana Del Rey) | > This is lovely! Definitely the most 'folklore' so far, but could be a grower. I'm kinda glad LDR isn't so prominent! <

09.0 You're On Your Own, Kid | > This is hypnotically good. There's a certain thing about the production on this that keeps me hooked! Gorgeous! <

09.0 Midnight Rain | > Gorgeous. I think this may be my sleeper hit off this album (the one I adore but not many others will appreciate). The production and vocal effects... bliss! <

10.0 Question...? | > Soooo good! This sound really, really works for her and the melody in this is beautiful! <

08.5 Vigilante Shit | > Veryyyy interesting. It's very 'Reputation' era... with the subtlety and vibe of 'folklore'/'evermore'. It works! Think this could be a big grower! <

08.5 Bejeweled | > So good. I do love a big explosive moment in synth pop bangers! <

09.0 Labyrinth | > This started off strong anyway, but it got better as it went on... Lovely! <

09.0 Karma | > I think this would also work very well as a single. Tbh, it wouldn't surprise me if this was the one Tik Tok took too and had some kind of trend to it. <

07.0 Sweet Nothing | > I think this is sweet. But it's definitely the most "eh" I've felt during the album. I think this is kinda what I feared the album would be full of with the initial reviews. <

08.5 Mastermind | > Love this as the ending! Again the production is stellar! <

---

09.0 The Great War | > This is so good! Kinda should've been on the main album, but idk what it'd replace, so I kinda get why she didn't include it if she was telling a story with this. <

07.5 Bigger Than The Whole Sky | > This is nice. But definitely filler. Maybe a grower though. <

07.5 Paris | > Again, it's nice and slightly better than BTTWS, but definitely filler amongst this album. Not a bad thing necessarily! <

08.0 High Infidelity | > Really liking this. Particularly the way she sings the title of the track. <

07.5 Glitch | > Quite interesting in it's melody. Think it needs to grow! <

09.0 Would've, Could've, Should've | > Oh yeahhhh this is great! In keeping with 'Midnights' sound and vibe, but there's a sense of 'Red' to it. So good! There's a "classic Taylor" vibe to this... <

07.5 Dear Reader | > Again... another fillery one. But it's nice though. <

I only skip 'Glitch'. Everything else gets frequent plays in some form or the other. I don't even think I listen to 'Glitch' in album listens. One of my least favourite Taylor songs tbh. It is the only one that got worse and worse the more I heard it. Everything from 3-9 can be in any given order at any time. I love every single one of them! Incredible!

Back up to #1 in the mids but its very close! hope it can get a 3rd week at #1 on the albums!
I'm not sure I can bring myself to buy another copy of this album (I adore it, but over 200 quid already spent) but really hoping she gets the #1. she has the streaming advantage obviously but Cliff is apparently doing press (+ it's a Christmas album)...
cliff has been doing price reductions all week, so im not sure, hopefully she grabs it! itll be an interesting battle tomorrow!

I reckon she's gonna make the third week ! Seems fitting Midnights and Folklore hold the record for the UK at 3 weeks but it's more than possible she'll make more weeks at number 1 in Jan with Midnights?

Breaking more records with Midnights. Seems nuts this is even possible in a streaming world.

Yeah there’s not much competition until 20th Jan, so I think she will sneak another week or two in between now and then! I can see it doing 5 weeks in total which would be fantastic.

Taylor music to my ears

Me having the same moderately hot take favourite on the album as Jonjo is not a twist I expected x
I’m going to try and make this one of the albums I listen to in January. What’s better, the standard version or the 3am edition?

Definitely the 3am version. Some of the 3am tracks are some of the best :)

Enjoy!

Thanks, I think I’ll get around to it next weekend hopefully.

I’ve got a few albums to work through now.

Midnights

Marry Me (Olly Murs)

The Lost Tapes (Sugababes) - I’ve already played this heaps, I just love it.

+Ava Max and P!no’s albums are out early this year. I might also check out Beyoncé’s latest album as I haven’t done that one yet.

Mids for this week have been published - Anti-Hero set to climb back to #6 after avoiding ACR in christmas week! Lavender Haze & Snow On The Beach have dropped out. LH is apparently on ACR but SOTB only spent 8 weeks on chart so its not eligible for acr, i'm assuming its jsut been overtaken - these two are set to enter the charts for the first time: Bejeweled at #60 and You're On Your Own Kid at #69
'Anti-Hero' is on ACR, there's a decent chance it'll still end up being reset (the resets last year happened on the Wednesday update) in which case it's challenging for #2 this week.
