What on earth is happening to History

It’s tanking on Spotify and just about out the top 100

I expected this to go top 5 at least on release, bit of a disappointment

 

yeh both are spotify darlings, not quite sure where it went wrong for Joel!

the last couple Joel Corry songs are not up to standard and it's pretty clear why the songs are under-performing

I mean that’s your opinion

History is my favourite Joel Corry song to date and defo one of his best IMO

So a bit disappointing to see for me

I think his only dud has been I Wish which seemed to hang around between 18-30 for an eternity.

It's kind of symptomatic of what little information we're given. Songs go up and down all the time but there's only so much we get to see. So a song going from 10K a day to 30K is quite dramatic but not captured, yet going from 90K a day to 110K is less interesting but a huge chart movement captured. And of course, the more popular a song is (to an extent), the more likely it is to have some sort of viral moment, even if it's already had it several times before.

Because everyone massively uses Spotify in Spain, the market share of Apple Music is tiny compared to the UK.

 

And yes it is a shame non-English songs are generally ignored in the UK.

I thought 'Psycho' would be one of those novelty sounding songs that chart quite highly first week on built up Tiktok preview hype then disappear from the charts (like ArrDee's song 'Hello Mate' ) but I guess Spotify playlisting will help it stay around.
