Oh wow top 20 in the final (especially after languishing near the bottom for so long) and top 10 in the semi is sooo much better than I was expecting for this, really pleased *.*

Really not a fan of the winner, I thought it was awful from the moment I heard it, so that's a shame, particularly as either PPJ or Eline Noelia would have been fantastic winners (and PPJ even a really inspired one!).

 

I correctly called that I'd scraped through to the final by a single point and thanks to late voters so I wasn't expecting too much (nearly knocked myself out there). Honestly I'm just happy such a niche and beautiful entry got to the final with basically zero hype and a fair number of valuable high points means I'll take that as a success, thank you everyone who supported MASS OF THE FERMENTING DREGS I love them.

 

JUMPER 6th is an epic moment though, at least 3 of the best songs this contest in the top 10 and 'Fever Dream' less than 10 points away, god that was a fantastic masterstroke of an entry.

Just catching up on the last few results now - thank you to any voters I haven't already thanked (esp Persephonia, Flynnonda + Skall for your medal positions!). I might've expected slightly higher than 16th considering I got more 18s than anyone else (slightly nerdy stats flex :kink: ) but that's a new peak for me so I'm still very happy with it!

Big fan of Cupid so that's a great winner even if slightly on the cheaper side - absolutely loved Dar Um too so I'm pretty pleased with the results! Tartford, Jadakissnia & Cadelicia deserved way better though. Congrats Rob on the win and thanks Cody for hosting a great contest with great visuals!

Fab hosting Cody, Fab winner Rob (and yay to me for being the only one giving it 18 points), it's a great popsong that stood out as fun and sassy :dance: "Fun" pop isn't to everyone's taste, obviously, so to try and strike a balance between the various views I will start looking for an experimental track that starts off slow and moody with minimal melody, lyrics and structure, then gets more upbeat, but still grim, before taking the listener on a journey through dance trance, morphing after a bit into a catchy club tune, then the girlie vocals kick in and the hook starts to really bite for a wow pop finish.

 

I'm not sure my search will be successful though...

I won the semi!? That's gotta be my first semi win ever unless I've completely blanked on something. I love this entry but wasn't expecting anything at all with it being so midtempo and understated. Yay for an unexpected 5th top 10, thanks to everyone who voted for it :heart:

 

Congrats Rob!! 'Cupid' was a discovery for me, my 15-pointer and easily my favorite Rose Gray entry to date, so very happy with it winning, although I voted for the entire top 5 so great results overall. Could've done with a higher finish for Dobago, but 18th seems fitting enough for my 18 (and three other countries' 18 too ;) )

Not a fan of the winning song and it felt way too cheap for this, but congrats to Rob nonetheless! I think I'd be happier swapping 6-10 with 1-5, but really pleased to see Cumulonimbia finish 2nd and thrilled so many of my big votes did well, Eledan was the easiest 18 I've ever given, welcome back :wub: This song wasn't my thing, but slightly sad for Klum getting so close again, at least you have a fellow eternal bridesmaid still here x Also, no way should Florina have been last!

GOOP! I only caught up with this on my break at work because I needed to go to bed. I didn't expect that at all, I don't think I led at all until the final scoreboard?! But, hooray for WIN #5 :wub: I love Cupid so much and as I said previously, it definitely appealed to different people than I expected but clearly that worked out well!

 

I'm glad that Patrick finished 3rd instead of 2nd, so there's less guilt on that end. I really liked most of the top 10 tbh, and I know a lot don't seem to agree, but I thought the contest as a whole was really strong.

 

Excited to host again, I've never done one while I have a proper life, so god knows where I'll find the time amongst my holiday, but YOU BEST BELIEVE I'M NOT PASSING UP THE OPPORTUNITY.
