I hope people enjoy something I can only describe as “Kylie does a Twenty One Pilots song” the fact that this act does NOT have a good track record worries me but I could be wrong

Dan I'm assuming my entry isn't on Spotify, right?!

Oh yes, forgot to mention. Everything else is on.

Played it out of curiosity and the sample it's quite obvious (spoiler: I sent the artist not long ago lol)

Oh sure it's obvious if you know the song but I think it uses the sample very well

btw if 'Drugs From Amsterdam' ends up never being a proper hit then someone feel free to send it in like a year or whatever but at the moment it just looks too likely to be a repeat of Eliza Rose (having already made the UK Spotify chart and had discussion on the site as a possible future big hit) which we kind of want to avoid ~

Well aware that 'eight' was a fairly big worldwide hit a couple of years ago but primarily powered by Asian countries, it didn't chart at all in the UK nor did it attract much attention on BuzzJack when it came out.

whosampled.com didn't bring up a sample for the altrice song oops but the song had no other veto points anyway so it's all good x (can't actually find what the sample is even directly Googling it, I found the artist but not the song x)

re. IU - if a BTS member featuring in the track didn’t trigger any veto sensors then idk it’s probably fine

It won PJSC and just debuted on the Multichart so I wouldn't worry x

Here are my guesses which none of them are true lol:

République d'Áskorza: Rūta Ķergalve - Vārdi

This is more of an "if they send Latvian folk", but this would've fit perfectly to the hint. I think it was sent in a couple of other song contests, doing somewhat reasonably well too.

I’m still holding my Latvian folk on my reserve list, but I can say it’s not this. It’s a very different vibe. More………witchy

Whoops I may have missed that it debuted on the Multichart due to that dropping after I did the research  Starting to think doing the research before the last couple of days may not actually necessarily be better especially as most people ended up taking days to reconfirm anyway

Well I will quote from what I did write in my research writeup for 'So Typically Now'...

- very safe and predictable entry, I am going to lose my mind if Cody starts predicting himself to DNQ again

:P

Wow it's very, very Kylie. Sounds like it was plucked off Body Language, can see why it's in the multichart already :o A good chance it's going to be top three here as the current winner debuted below that in the multichart.

Ooh I know quite a lot of these this month :o :

AQ ○ Cumulonimbia: Nakhane - Tell Me Your Politik (feat. Moonchild Sanelly & Nile Rodgers) ~ Jadakissnia recycle with Moonchild Sanelly *.* mine DNQed so yay for this automatically doing better

09 ○ D'yermak'er: Daya - See You In My Dreams

19 ○ Thelonia: Effy - Not Yours

27 ○ Harmonica: Turnstile - MYSTERY

28 ○ Beaverdonia: Aluna & Jayda G - Mine O' Mine

Hyped by some of the artist names elsewhere too. A Sims remix? :cheeseblock:

Hype! The only songs I already know are Kathaldazia + Beaverdonia (plus maybe Jupiterdonia?) but all of those are in the other semi so I'm looking forward to some discoveries!

Pestolia: Max Barsikh

I thought I have this in the bag, especially when they were sent exactly 3 times before!! I'm seething lmao

(fwiw I did say I'd decided not to send the artist that had already been sent 3 times x)

Not me misinterpreting stuff again :hithead:

Edited by uhsting

Tell Me Your Politik ... is that a reinterpretation or sample of Rush!!! (OF Blood) (Up) (To The Head)?
Protip for future sleuthing, I don't ever (intentionally) send artists that have been sent before :kink: The previous Tanya Tagaq entry was a tune though x

A few I'm already knowing and liking this contest

Cumulonimbia - Doctor B continuing to represent South African excellence

Beaverfina

Persephonia

Cor Lupus - likening this to Twenty One Pilots is a bit oop but I do get the Kylie vibes with the vocals x

Thelonia

Eledan - we love a trash bop

Quintessa

And yes Kathaldazia sent Madonna's daughter! You better stan (and vote)

6 of these I've heard before, which is about as high as it ever gets. Nicely split between 2 I think are great, 2 fine and 2 I didn't like at all!
