Love that a 2024 Kylie release has achieved that - in the streaming era I never thought we’d see that in the UK or US.

It was definitely something I'll never forget/never quite believe was actually real!

Say somebody bought 10 copies of the Padam Padam CD single, would that class as 10 sales or just 1 because they were one collective purchase?

I’ve bought 3 at a time - I’m not convinced the old 3 copies per transaction rule applies anymore but it’s entwined into chart history folklore, but essentially 10 copies would count as 3 sales under that rule.

Final day to have our actual streams counted before Thursdays OCC guess :magic:

Smash that play button today

If i change my VPN location to UK, does Spotify counts my plays for UK chart or they'll know and/or they'll go with my account location in general?!

I see that Kylie is really low on Amazon - so I have a few questions about Amazon.

I assume there are two different branches of Amazon: Amazon Prime and Amazon Music Unlimited.

I recall that there used to be two different Amazon charts that I could see at the same time! Now I can no longer see a chart in the app, so the only one I have is the one in my browser. I assume this is a chart for Amazon Prime only. If so, does anyone know where I can see the Amazon Music Unlimited chart - or does it not exist?

Secondly, no matter how hard I try I can’t get Amazon Prime to play ‘Padam Padam’ - at some point last year, they redesigned the app to not play the song artist you request, only artists similar to it - so it won’t play the song unless I have it downloaded on my phone (in which case it doesn’t count as streaming). Under such circumstances, Amazon Prime clearly doesn’t count towards premium streaming, but if you can’t get it to play the song that you want, does it even count towards ad-funded streaming?

Hi ny hun

So if I have Padam Padam saved/downloaded on Spotify, when I stream it. Does it not count towards the charts?

Thanks hun

Yes if you change your VPN then the streams will count towards the location that you change it too - lots of fans do this for other artists (like BTS etc.,)

Spotify: yes it counts. Because you’ve not paid (per track) to download it - therefore it still counts as streaming. ‘Downloading’ in this case just means you’ve saved it to your device to play offline.

Amazon: no. Because it’s a different definition of ‘download’ here. My phone only plays it on Amazon because I’ve purchased the download and it’s playing from my purchases.

The Amazon Prime streams will count towards the charts however as you mentioned you can’t actual chose what you play if you don’t pay for their streaming services so if you search for Padam, Padam it will play you several songs it feels are similar before you get to hear PP.

There are lots of free premium trials out there for between 1-3 months for Apple Music, Amazon, Deezer etc., if you want to hear what you select.

I would say it is Amazon letting her down so far, and it's a bigger platform than many think for music streaming
Up to 11 on the UK rolling Airplay chart….looking good for top ten by Friday. Should be plenty more playlist plays today and tomorrow compared to Wednesday & Thursday last week.
