I know people saying this will drop like a stone but do we actually known how far ahead of 10th place it is? Maybe it's a biggish margin?

I can't see it dropping heavily. What did 6 last week sell on Mondays update, do we know?

Love that a 2024 Kylie release has achieved that - in the streaming era I never thought we’d see that in the UK or US.

It was definitely something I'll never forget/never quite believe was actually real!

Thanks for posting! I love that the press has really run with the 'Comeback Kylie' angle and that she's been getting so much praise and respect.

As for Radio 1, meh! <_< Wow at #6 though. I hope BMG have some other tricks up their sleeves for this week. Staying in the Top 10 is a tall order but this could be its best shot, so... bring on the remixes x

Yes hun, I agree. Shes getting lots of great positibe media attention.

Just Carol honey ❤️

I don't think today's sales have been revealed, but I have some information from two weeks ago that could give us a rough idea.

The #6 in the First Look chart on Sunday 21st May had sold 5,295 copies. The #15 had sold 3,529 copies. [This titbit of info was shared earlier today: "Also, excluding physical, PP would still be in today's Top20 (around position No15)."] That's a difference of 1,766 between #6 and #15 on that Sunday from 2 weeks ago. If the sales were similar in today's Sunday first look, it could suggest Padam Padam having sold in the region of 1,500 to 2,000 copies on CD single so far, to give it that boost from #15 to #6.

The #6 from the Friday chart 2 weeks ago ended up selling 27,056. So from the Sunday First Look #6 (5,295) to the official Friday chart, #6 required a further 21,761 sales for the rest of that week, to maintain that position. #10 sold 22,808, so a 17,513 increase.

So those are potentially the kind of sales figures that Padam Padam might need to sell for the rest of the week - which seems like a tall order to me. She would be required to sell more from Sunday-Thursday than she has in her previous two weeks, for the entire week (14,649 in week 1, 15,788 in week 2).

Hopefully we'll get sales tomorrow to make things clearer. I have a feeling she could be on course for 18,000+ this week, but recently that's touch and go for staying Top 15. I don't think that Week 3 was the week for solid Top 10 potential. The streaming still needs to be stronger than it currently is.

Don't get me wrong though, I'll be over the moon if Padam Padam climbs into the Top 15!

Thank you for this analysis, I hope someone from BMG actually follows this thread on our forum and take note...

^^ Great breakdown as always Jay.

And it ties in as I would expect a Kylie physical to sell around 2k to UK fans.

A few fans are still saying they haven’t had dispatch emails yet for their pre-orders so there might be a few (small) sales to come from those plus anyone picking it up now they’ve heard it’s #6.

We should see where it lands in tomorrow’s midweeks. If it stays top-10, I’d say she has a chance.

And as for Radio 1… there’s a reason they’re by far not as relevant as before. <_< they’re trying too hard to the point that they completely miss it.

Well Amazon Music which I believe is 2nd in the streaming market behind Spotify she is now 24 and climbing.

Spotify many above her are ACR however there are the new entries etc. Still growing in this share too....

Downloads staying firm for now.

I don't think any big remix will come out until maybe Friday 9th or 16th, the latter is more likely as this is potentially when Kylie streaming on Spotify could need the boost as it will be a month since release.

I think an EP released on weds or Thurs on itunes with single edit, Extended Mix for £1.29 would do some great sales and also grab some extra streaming going into the following week.

I am sure BMG have it all covered and we just have to wait and see.

What we can't so much about is big new releases or surprises and they just have to stick to their guns.

I cannot believe they do not have some sort of UK promo lined up for re single even if just a performance.

Then I think we could have big DJ remix like Tiesto or a fun remix for Pride like Padam Padam (Ru Paul Pride edit)

All just my own ideas of course.

As we know it is in the running for top 10 so I'd be all for a big remix now, top 10 would be massive for kylie on the official chart.
I think this is the best week tbh, obviously you want streaming to keep growing but we just don’t know where the ceiling is. I’d rather play it safe and pull out the stops for a top 10 this week while it has physicals and is close than hold off for a better week and risk letting it peter out.

Agreed, I think it’s hard for the record company to suss out just how much success this might have. It could end up staying in the charts for ages and not have required the CDs at all, but what we’re seeing now is unprecedented so they may as well do all they can now in case they lose their best chance.

I think there is bigger things coming.

Honestly think they are trying to establish the single on playlists and then the remix and more physicals released in the coming weeks.

Clubs in Ibiza etc will have this doing the rounds I am sure.

I wonder if I jump on a UK VPN and start downloading and watching PP it will count? Anyone know?

The 10 Out of 10 remixes EP? 🙏🏻

It’s a difficult one but I agree if it’s close and they have something to drop then they should do so… as has been mentioned it could start to retreat after this week or it could explode and go Top 20 on Spotify.

The novelty of the memes has worn off so that could impact further streaming success. It’s such an unknown that’s why I guess they should attempt what they can when they can.

Yes, VPN set to UK will make streams etc., count towards here as it believes you are in the country.

Yeah. If not this week when top 10 is in reach then what are you holding off for, to go #1? I’d love that but I’d rather secure top 10 and then see where it goes. I’m not saying milk it dry in one week! But they definitely should react in some way to spur the fanbase into action

Plus I’m having flashbacks to Trustfall stalling at #14…

Thank you

Top 10 is only in reach at the moment because they decided on unleashing the CDs now though. It could have been more in reach next week, that’s if the streaming continues to build up.

It’s always a case of “hindsight is a wonderful thing” and we don’t know what its fate is yet. But my gut feeling is that they’ve slightly jumped the gun with the CDs.
