There will always be new releases though, she isn't the only artist with a good song out. We have to acknowledge that. They will have plenty more for this yet but it can't be this intense for us all the time haha

I knew it was unlikely to remain top 10, but I was hoping it wouldn't have fallen that steeply on day 2.

Yeah I was a bit shocked it dropped five places.

I don't think the fall is too unexpected because Padam Padam's daily sales are quite a bit lower than the songs it is currently surrounded by in the midweeks, which have stronger streaming. As we know she's only up there with them currently because of a boost from CD sales.

 

I have some Sunday/Monday midweek data from a couple of weeks ago, to give examples of what the sales increases can be like at that stage in the midweeks, which I've posted below.

 

As you can see from the data below, a lot of the singles increased by 3k+ to 4k+ in a day. Padam Padam hasn't had daily sales that high in the midweeks stages - some of her best days so far have seen her exceed 2k+. So it stands to reason that a few singles below her in the Sunday midweeks would overtake her when some of them might be selling up to double of what she is managing in a day. From the Sunday midweeks, the #7, #8, #9, #10 and #12 have gone ahead of her.

 

As things stand, I think Padam Padam is on track for 18k+ in week 3 (my projection is 18,300!). All going well it'll be enough for Top 15, although I wouldn't be surprised if it was more like #16/#17. Still fantastic! If the CDs hadn't have happened... I think Top 20 would have been touch and go, particularly with these new Dave/Central Cee songs.

It's funny we are still using the Tension album cover as the Padam Padam cover on Spotify, Itunes etc.

 

That's why I think a 3 track release on Friday would work well.

 

Playlists do there job for general passive steams then Kylie fans strange the 3 track on Spotfiy and downloading individually etc. That will generate the extra sales for week 4 chart position.

 

Can you imagine a surprise Glasto 2023 appearance just to sing Padam Padam on someone else's set and the crowd all chant at the same time "Padam, Padam, I hear it and I know" all at the same time. Would be huge

Wow! was not expecting a climb today, fantastic news! it’s gonna be tight then!

She was 135 sales behind #10 yesterday so very close sales in that region.

Hopefully they had a shedload of CDs that were despatched yesterday!

I think they probably went for their standard 5k run of CD singles, but so many of them get shipped outside of the UK so end up not counting for the UK charts which usually is not a problem.
