Love that a 2024 Kylie release has achieved that - in the streaming era I never thought we’d see that in the UK or US.

It was definitely something I'll never forget/never quite believe was actually real!

Happy with 8 even if it’s its peak, which is possible looking at the recent streaming progress, it has done very well and has done wonders for Kylie’s streaming reach already!

Also very impressive it shifted 3k pure sales on week 5 without any boost from the fans or new physical formats!

As far as I knew according to the spoiler it was #7 so I was like whaaa

I'm still thrilled with a climb regardless though. And you know what that means? At the current rate, 7 weeks until #1! :cheer:

They updated it not long after it was originally posted.

Epic that it’s climbed again though, I literally don’t mind what happens from this point!

I saw #7 reported earlier too! Still I think we were expecting it be #8 anyway and it’s great to see it in the Top 10 without a physical release last week (I know there are still some physicals trickling over though).

It’s up to #3 on TV airplay too! Highest position since ‘Wow’ went to #1.

8 on Official Chart

1 on Download Chart

6 on the Physicals Chart

14 on the Audio-Streams Chart.

From Music Week:

While we’re talking formats, Kylie Minogue’s Padam Padam reaches another new peak, advancing 9-8 (25,549 sales) with assistance from residual sales of both cassette (189 units) and CDs (115 units). The track has now sold 1,693 copies on cassette, which doesn’t seem much but which places it atop the list of biggest selling cassettes of the last 10 years, ahead of Adele’s Easy On Me (1,612) and her own 1989 Jason Donovan duet, Especially For You, which has sold just two fewer than Easy On Me in the moribund format since its re-release last August.

Another week in which we may not end up finding out the streaming vs. downloads split

Switch Disco at #7 = 25,819, just 270 copies ahead. :(

We need some uk residents to buy the especially for you cassettes. 3 sales and put it ahead of Adele. Kylie so close to number 7 a remix would haceceasily clinched it this week.

I heard Padam on the Radio 1 Breakfast Show this morning and it was quite the moment.

"About Padam Time."

I kinda feel like we may be expecting a slight fall this week without a remix or vinyl.

They really are now playing the long game I feel.

I agree. For BMG, PP has more than just overachieved so they're probably also saving some of the other tricks for future singles and of course, the album.

Yes, I think we’ll get a fall this week but like you say BMG I think want to give PP as much life as possible and will roll out whatever is next when needed.

Great to see Kylie getting into Top 20 in Australia, I hope PP can go to Top 10!! If that happens, it would make it her first Top 10 single since... "2 Hearts" in 2007.

yay for PP in Aus.

Totally off topic: I'm probably in the minority here but I'm like the only one who's hardly ever cared for her Oz chart positions (yes, fully aware it's her 2nd biggest market). Probably because Aus was so cold in the early PWL days, and even though Aussie love and respect for K started with Impossible Princess, and Parlo onwards, her albums have been mosly top 3'ish, I still find her Aus chart runs and general Aussie perception/reception of her a bit wishy washy (whereas in the UK, it just seems so much more consistent). To me, I don't even think of her as an Aussie, I always include her in my list of favourite British artists. (I consider Natalie Imbruglia and all very much still Aussie though, lol) I mostly (like 90%) care about the UK chart perf nd runs; and then EU.
