This, I saw the social media push for the album today too - I think that will be their focus now to get lapsed and new fans into pre-ordering the album.

PP has done its job for them, big Top 10 single with mass media coverage and introducing Kylie back into the mainstream limelight so now it’ll all be about £££ from the album, of course us as fans want more for the single but for BMG they couldn’t have wished for a better start to the ‘Tension’ era regardless of what PP does chart wise now.

Yeah, I agree. I wouldn’t be surprised if we got another remix but also wouldn’t be surprised if the Jax Jones mix was the last little push they did.

For some reason I am slightly disappointed we didn’t get the #7 peak but overall what a smash and I can’t wait for the next single!

Love that a 2024 Kylie release has achieved that - in the streaming era I never thought we’d see that in the UK or US.

It was definitely something I'll never forget/never quite believe was actually real!

I agree my huns

I think BMG will be wanting to keep the song off ACR, the longer it is top 10 and doing well on streaming etc the more new people will hear it and the better it does to help them with the album campaign. They will flog Padam Padam for as long as possible and drain every drop out of it hun.

It will be interesting to see what happens next. Theres clearly more life in this song yet, excited to see how well it does.

Just Carol Honey ❤️

I think it would be sensible to drop the remaining remixes on week 9, hope for it to be enough for an increase and then move on to single 2 on week 12-13.

Just out of interest, do we know who has done the other remixes? I downloaded the Jax Jones remix today. It’s not bad tbh.

Would love the remixes to be available on Cd single though.

Realistically Olivia and Taylor are both going to enter the T10 this coming week, so for Kylie to stay in she’s going to need to push Harry and - for better or worse - Peggy Gou out.

Big fan of this campaign in any case, will be buying the Jax Jones remix on iTunes during the week to do my bit.

We all went out last night, around 40 of us aged between 18-30....We are a very diverse lot, gender wise and sexuality wise and music wise. As always the conversation turned to music. Some of us are Kylie fans, some can take her or leave her, others just not into her at all, but the whole feeling was "Padam" has lit up our winter with even non kylie fans saying they can't help actually enjoying the song, some even begrudgingly so. Considering the diversity of us all, it is amazing. The other interesting thing is the tickets for Taylor Swift went on sale this week amid blanket media coverage, her name was mentioned last night and at least 80% of us groaned..along with many comments similar to "If I hear that name one more time...."

All that made me think that the PR team behind Kylie has got this "Tension" era extremely balanced, she is out there for all to see, but not to the point of overload. Media hysteria over an artist more often or not leads to a backlash against the artist. The feeling against Taylor last night was very real

Thought for the day. Here’s the ACR predictions:

DCL-1:

Harry Styles - As It Was (#8)

DCL-2:

Calvin Harris & Ellie Goulding - Miracle (#3)

Jazzy - Giving Me (#4)

Rudimental, Charlotte Plank & Vibe Chemistry - Dancing Is Healing (#5)

Switch Disco & Ella Henderson - REACT (#6)

Assuming Kylie can overtake Harry, and the other songs go on ACR next week - NEXT WEEK would be the week to put the foot on the accelerator. Next week (and I don’t mean this next chart but following one) Kylie could climb to the magic number 7, or possibly even top 5.

:o

That potential clear out due to ACR is just what we need to see - the 4 on DLC2 have been clogging up the top end of the charts.

But she was only 3k off a top 5 yesterday so why would you think when she is going to struggle when she is going to get extra streaming, extra downloads then probably last week.

Let's be positive. I think she may be top 7 in Sundays first look and there is plenty of download and extra streaming chances to track if its close this week.

I think you will be surprised in todays Spotify update....

Decided to check out Ina Wroldson seeing as she had a hand in writing PP - can’t believe I’ve never taken any interest in her before, some of her back catalogue is brilliant!

Thanks for this hun

What does DCL sound for?

Is that how many weeks their stteams have decreased?

Have the ones in DLC 2 had 2 weeks of declined streams hun?

Yes she is like the Norwegian Roisin Murphy lol.

Breathe with Jax Jones is a tune

Ariana Grade is Padaming hard today

“Only 3k” (actually nearer 4k - 3,633) is a significant gap between Padam Padam and Top 5.

She hasn’t really been close to Top 5 yet. There needs to be a considerable boost for it to be a possibility.

09/06: #12 [20,837] - 74.82% of the #5’s sales [27,849] (7,012 behind)

16/06: #09 [25,867] - 87.30% of the #5’s sales [29,629] (3,762 behind)

23/06: #08 [25,549] - 91.49% of the #5’s sales [27,926] (2,377 behind)

30/06: #10 [22,814] - 86.26% of the #5’s sales [26,447] (3,633 behind)

If the week at #8 had coincided with a vinyl release… maybe she’d have a Top 5 hit in her hands now. But there’s still no indication that there’ll be one and her streaming has weakened… so that’s why it’s crucial that all of those songs coming up for ACR actually do go to ACR and don’t avoid it, if Padam Padam is to have a chance of out-peaking #8.

36 on Spotify on Friday. Not sure how many streams etc. Not sure how many the Jax Jones remix will add also on top of that, maybe 10-15k? and the extended mix 5k?

I would not be surprised if there was a little Padam with Ariana feature still to come and that would be great

Down to 3 and 9 on itunes
