We’re officially halfway through qualifying and what a difference one match day can make. We went none of 4 teams from the Nations League finals being in qualifying positions and all 4 Path C Nations League winners being in the qualifying spots to only one Finalist missing and 1 Path C qualifying.

On Tuesday, Scotland can become the fist team to qualify without even playing a qualifier on the day. A draw between Norway and Georgia would book Scotland’s spot in Germany.

Unrelated to Euros qualifying but you ever seen a manager's stock drop quite as quickly as Flick? From treble-winning messiah to the first ever coach to be sacked by Die Mannschaft all within 3 years is some impressive going!

German football has been in decline for a while though, they look to be in a really similar position England were in 2010. Seems a bit of a poisoned chalice at the moment, Musiala aside, not sure where the next crop of German talent is.

Bundesliga is full of it, they just don’t play for Bayern so the DFB doesn’t see it

Biggest issue I have with the DFB is how narrow their focus is, and how dependent they are on Bayern and Dortmund providing their squad

Absolutely insane, like sign of the apocalypse levels of insanity, that the first national qualifying quite possibly could be f***ing Scotland

Poland has been a bit shit for a hot minute now, but still Albania getting a 2-0 home result is as good as their 1-1 away to Czech Republic. Nice to see them lead the group. Poland currently in 4th place.

For today's matches, Austria and Ukraine has a chance to get away results and really put non-playoff qualification as a question mark for Sweden and Italy.

Scotland didn’t quite confirm qualification but quite a few teams are getting close now. If there’s a winner between Belgium and Austria in matchday 7, they will book their place.

I’m sorry for any fans of Gibraltar, Cyprus, Latvia, San Marino and Lichtenstein as they are all now the first nations to officially be unable to qualify for Euro 2024.

Arsenal forward Bukayo Saka has been ruled out of England's games against Australia and Italy because of injury.

Saka missed his side's 1-0 Premier League win over champions Manchester City on Sunday with a hamstring injury.

The FA confirmed he has withdrawn after being assessed by England's medical team and would not be replaced in the squad, which now has 25 players.

England face Australia on 13 October, before taking on Italy in a European Championship qualifier four days later.

"No, he will not make it," said Gunners boss Arteta after Sunday's game. "He has not trained for a single session."

England squad

Goalkeepers: Sam Johnstone, Jordan Pickford, Aaron Ramsdale

Defenders: Levi Colwill, Lewis Dunk, Marc Guehi, Harry Maguire, John Stones, Fikayo Tomori, Kieran Trippier, Kyle Walker, Trent Alexander-Arnold

Midfielders: Jude Bellingham, Conor Gallagher, Jordan Henderson, Kalvin Phillips, Declan Rice

Forwards: Jarrod Bowen, Phil Foden, Jack Grealish, Harry Kane, James Maddison, Eddie Nketiah, Marcus Rashford, Bukayo Saka, Ollie Watkins

I have Albanian natives here at my office in USA who are pumping their fists over this run and with good reason. That's why I've always been partial to them. With just a home match vs. Faroe Islands and a road trip to Moldova on the docket, it would take something unfortunate to not see Albania through and as group winners to boot.
