I mean, this is is obvious right?

Not at all, Japan always punch above their weight on the big stage and can see them getting something from one or both of the big boys in this group.

I'm backing Spain to win the whole thing (which probably means they'll go out in the group stage) so I have to say them and it would be mind-blowing for Germany to crash out in the group stages for a second successive tournament. But this group just has that feel of a shock outcome...

I think Spain will win all 3 group games here and I would expect Germany to win 2. Costa Rica to beat Japan and get 3rd place.

1. Spain

2. Germany

3. Costa Rica

4. Japan

Germany are my favourites for the tournament and Spain have more than enough to qualify too.

1. Germany

2. Spain

3. Japan

4. Costa Rica

Germany XI: Neuer, Süle, Rüdiger, Schlotterbeck, Raum - Kimmich, Gündogan ,Gnabry, Müller, Musiala, Havertz.

Japan XI: Gonda, Sakai, Itakura, Yoshida, Nagatomo, Endo, Ito, Kamada, Tanaka, Kubo, Maeda.

Pundit Roy Keane is a right nutter, worst pundit ever.

what a goal from Japan, they worked hard to bring themselves back into it

(supporting both teams here btw so a draw would be good)

The parallels to the Argentina game are crazy! Favourite takes the lead through a first half penalty. Underdog scores 2 in the second half to pull off the shock.

Over to you Costa Rica...

Japan played brilliantly after their subs.

Germany deserved it for not taking their chances when they were dominating the ball.

Japan come from behind to beat the four-time world champions Germany for the first time in their history.
