Less than 10m people in Germany watched the match vs Japan. In 2018 no match had a viewing figure under 25m

Do you think the German people don’t care for the World Cup because it’s in Qatar?

Edited by Steve201

Germany could get knocked out of the World Cup on Sunday if they lose to Spain and Japan beat Costa Rica. It would be crazy for Germany to go out in the group stage at two World Cups in a row but it looks like a very realistic possibility now.

Japan (4-2-3-1): Gonda; Yamane, Itakura, Yoshida, Nagatomo; Endo, Morita; Doan, Kamada, Soma; Ueda

Costa Rica (4-2–2-2): Navas; Watson, Calvo, Duarte, Oviedo; Tejeda, Borges; Fuller, Torres; Campbell, Contreras

It's a must win for Germany really, but I can't see it happening if Japan beat Costa Rica.

Japan had a massive drop-off from the first game. They didn't deserve anything even if it's hard to say Costa Rica deserved a win.

Germany are well back in it now. As long as they don't get beat heavily tonight, I'd still say their favourites to go through with Spain. 3 points might well be enough for them.

Japan Vs Costa Rica was probably the worst match of the tournament so far but that late goal for Costa Rica throws this group wide open, if Germany beat Spain later all teams in this group will be on 3 points ahead of the last round of group matches.

Germany going out here?

Mathematically they are not out they need to beat Costa Rica by at least three goals and hope Spain beat Japan. Probably go down to goal difference if that were to happen.
