So I havnt listened to a Lana album since Ultraviolent.. and this is about to change.. all 3 songs are seriously fantastic.. but ‘The Grants’ is the one.. for me, it’s one of her best ever

Why do we always lie and pretend anything is better than her debut singles? NFR is the only thing that's even close.

Well, you've missed out on a ton of good stuff. :o

8.3 in Pitchfork!

cannot wait to listen to the album in full later

I havent finished listening but i'm halfway through and every song is brilliant so far! i also listened to taco truck x vb before my full listenthrough cos curiosity and that is a f*cking masterpeice!
oh yes I also checked Taco Truck and loved it <3 Lanita <3 <3 <3

I think this is going to take at least a few listens to properly click, as the record is quite sonically similar for a large chunk in the middle with the heavy piano balladry focus, but I did pick up on pretty raw and personal themes lyrically throughout on that first play e.g. 'Fingertips'. The most instant of the new songs for me was 'Peppers' which is probably the closest sounding to the 'A&W' switch-up elsewhere on the album, that was a welcome bit of madness towards the end.

The pre-release singles remain bulletproof so I'm sure this project will fall into place for me once properly immersed in it, although can't see myself ever caring for 'Judah Smith Interlude' :kink:

Thats the spirit, don't even listen and say it's shit

but of course you have to go and post and say it's shit, go away!! :D

She only has two good albums. Rhe rest are droning, sound the same, not even a single change in tempo or lyrical content!! And people fool themselves into thinkin things like Ultraviolet are capable of takin on Born to Die!!!

Tell me you haven’t listened to the album without telling me you haven’t listened to the album 🤡 Genuinely don’t understand how anyone can still think Born to Die is her best work after the numerous masterpieces she’s released since…but there you go.

Her songwriting just gets stronger and stronger. The Grants, Kintsugi, Grandfather and the title track are some of her strongest lyrically for me ever. Kintsugi  Couldn’t wait to hear Taco Truck x VB as soon as I heard about the Venice Bitch sample, and it didn’t disappoint. What a way to close an album 🤯

Never know how a new Lana album fits in with my album ranking as they always reveal themselves so much with further listens, but it’s another great album from her, and one I’m looking forward to really delving into more.

Born to die and NFR are literally the only two good ones. That's ir. Nothin else. No other "masterpieces" ; just hours of droning.
There is some really good stuff on this album but I feel I have more than enough long piano dirges from Lana now.
