Not had the chance to listen yet (my first play was via Spotify) as it arrived while I was working but here's hoping! Will make my second listen a vinyl one.

Edit: just scoured twitter and saw that people have been complaining about crackles and surface noise for the colour variants, hmm *_*

I often find that with hers. I have the same one as you ordered so hoping I get lucky with it

I did listen to this a couple of times this morning and I think it is a strong enough effort, albeit it feels like everything since NFR could be slightly interchangeable in terms of style.

I really like the first half of the album, even the interludes sound okay to me although the Judah Smith one really doesn't need to be over 4 minutes long to get the feel across. Kintsugi, Fingertips and Paris, Texas just blurred into one for me on both listens but it picked up again with Grandfather... which was pretty instant for me and builds well. Then more blurring with a few male vox thrown in before a great couple of tracks to end on with Peppers and Taco Truck x VB. But in general it's another strong enough effort even if I feel I'll end up cutting two or three tracks out, just giving it a few more spins before I settle on which they will be.

ps we all know Meekul is just salty because he was hoping Taco Truck x VB was gonna be a Lana mash with the Trusteppers and Victoria Beckham's Out Of Your Mind

This is definitely the most instant of her last 3 albums for me. It feels very loose and care free and whilst not a huge leap it definitely feels less ‘samey’ than the last 2 albums

Peppers is insane!

Another fantastic album! Kintsugi is stunning  Also was shook at the Venice bitch sample on taco truck!!! (I have not been paying enough attention and just presumed VB was a featured artist so consider my shock when Venice Bitch came in 😂)

Could really really do without the two interludes tho. (Tho ig at least they’re the lowlights of the album this time, whilst the interlude on blue banisters might genuinely compete for top half on that album 😂)

this is not really what I was expecting, all very mellow, nice and cohesive but it's gonna take many many listens to get familiar with the songs

which don't seem to be very instant to me

love how she calls herself Lanita in Taco Track, that was the funniest

agree on the interludes the lowest of the album, also they are too long, interludes should be very short

I think we get that your opinion is that this album isn't good, we've heard sooo many times i think you can stop now x

The interludes didn’t do anything for the overall listen for me. BUT if you take those out it’s a really strong album. I need another listen or two to fully differentiate between some of the middle placed tracks in the track list but it’s definitely more instant than Blue Banisters for me.

I think The Grants is amongst her best ever but “Grandfather”, “Let the Light in” and “Margaret” are the holy trinity of this for me.

I'm not really a fan of Lana Del Rey, I find her voice very grating and the music isn't interesting enough to get past that, I always try each time because there has to be something in it, but I almost always give up pretty quickly. But reading her threads always fascinate me as it shows how I differently I view music to a lot of people. Even the acts I love most, I tend to tire of somewhat after a while without some kind of significant changes in style, because there comes a time where there just has to be enough of that music already. I find it amazing how most people are so positive about another above hour long album, even more so when there are such small gaps between them, when what I've listened to largely sounds like everything else of hers I've listened to in the last 5 years.

The first day Spotify numbers for this are definitely better than Blue Banisters right?

Pretty much the entire album is top 200 and there’s 12 tracks top 200 on US Spotify as well.

'Blue Banisters' only got 2 songs in the top 200 on UK Spotify on release day ('If You Lie Down With Me' at #111 and 'Dealer' at #194) so yes this is doing miles better.

This is the most songs she's ever landed in the top 100 on UK Spotify on album release day (9 songs at 32, 36, 43, 45, 51, 64, 71, 80 & 98) - for comparison 'Chemtrails Over The Country Club' had 3 (59, 83 & 88), 'Norman Fucking Rockwell!' had 7 (34, 57, 58, 70, 78, 82 & 95) and 'Lust For Life' had 5 (82, 91, 94, 99 & 100).

Does anyone have any sales updates for her previous albums? :)

I love Paris, Texas, Grandfather...., Taco Truck, A&W and Peppers the most on this record, but except for the interludes it's incredible. Not quite as good as NFR! or Born to Die but a cemented third place for me.

Not too sure on total sales but first week sales wise

Born to Die - 116,745 (#1)

Ultraviolence - 48,028 (#1)

Honeymoon - 28,391 (#2)

Lust for Life - 24,972 (#1)

NFR - 31,359 (#1)

Chemtrails - 40,111. (#1)

Not too sure on Blue Banisters but it debuted at #2 I know that much
