I’m not sure how I feel about that ending! It kinda feels like Kieran just told the others that Will was the traitor, rather than the faithfuls deducing it themselves, which doesn’t seem in spirit with the game really.

Though if Wilf hadn't shut Kieran out and thrown him under the bus, there wouldn't have been a need, so it adds another layer to the gameplay. Wilf played well but he brought about his own downfall by overplaying IMO!

I’ve definitely got mixed feelings about that finale!

Wilf turning on every traitor was definitely his undoing in the end. I think he became greedy at the thought of possibly being able to win the entire amount of money by himself. He really needed to work with Kieran, not go against him almost immediately. He was so blatant with his scheming and backstabbing in this episode that Kieran clearly knew full well what was going to happen at the round table. He knew his number was up. He had no allies left. With nothing left to lose, he got his revenge in a subtle yet also kind of obvious way. “Parting gift” was immediately iconic and a surprisingly camp moment from him(!), but it was also incredibly clear that he was accusing Wilf of being a traitor. His phrase was too loaded to have avoided suspicion. Kieran essentially handed the win to the faithfuls with his own backstab moment. I believe there’s zero chance that Hannah & Aaron would have suspected Wilf going forwards if Kieran hadn’t have said that. (Bless Meryl for not picking up the hint whatsoever). It was quite something to see Wilf completely lose his cool and have no clue how to deflect from what Kieran had done.

It’s kind of fascinating that the banishment of all 4 traitors was influenced directly by the traitors (3 by Wilf, 1 by Kieran). It was the lack of solidarity between the traitors that ultimately led to the faithfuls winning this almost by accident. Because it certainly wasn’t because of their own hunches.

That’s why I’m a bit mixed about the outcome, because I don’t feel like Hannah, Aaron and especially Meryl were truly deserving of winning, based on the way they’d played it. However I do think it’s an overall nicer outcome than if Wilf had managed to win. He did very well to get as far as he did, but as I said, a combination of greed and a lack of trust in his fellow traitors was his downfall here. Plus it seems his friendship with Hannah was also partially his undoing… because when he started being very over the top, shouting and saying things such as “if you do this to me I can’t remain friends with you” - this was such a swift change in his personality that it must have sealed the deal in Hannah (and Aaron’s) minds that they needed to banish him.

I have to say that this has been an incredible series. I honestly don’t think I’ve been this invested in a reality show since early years Big Brother. Completely essential viewing! So intense, countless amazing moments & twists, psychologically enthralling and really edge of your seat / heart pounding stuff. I’ve loved chatting endlessly about it to friends over the past few weeks!

There’s still room for improvement, if there’s more seasons - mainly regarding the challenges. I think they need to make the “win money” games have much more of a psychological element to them. I wish there was a way the challenges could contribute to making the faithfuls think “oh, are they a traitor actually?”. I get that the challenges are kind of meant to be light relief and entertaining, and some were more successful in achieving that than others. I thought the last challenge was a bit of a fail, apart from offering some nice views? The stakes didn’t feel high and I didn’t feel too invested in them being able to add more money.

P.S. Justice for Maddy!

I always thought there was something off/weird about him tbh :/ I couldn't put my finger on it though.
Great tele! Mixed feelins about the Faithfuls winning as they would never have got that unless Kieran basically didn't say that at the end. Wilf winning would have been a genuine TV gold moment with Hannah's reaction. But truly a great televsion show and I'm excited to see what the producers do going forward. There are definitely tweaks to be made to the format to tighten it up in the middle part of the episodes. I guess from here I'm expecting a full civillian series and a celebrity one as well. Well done BBC, feel like they have their own viral hit now.

I have to say I’m mixed on the outcome too, none of the three really feel like deserving winners, particularly Meryl who did absolutely nothing all season, but at the same time it’s satisfying to see a game fall apart when someone gets greedy like Wilf did, playing too hard or too aggressive is just as bad as not playing enough in my book. If he’d just worked with Kieran they easily could have won I think and he’d at least have ended up with half the money! I guess the way the format is, it feels like it lends itself well those who blend in winning as they won’t be murdered but also won’t really come up in discussions for banishment that much (granted Aaron had some heat), but then I’ve only seen this series not any of the international ones so that might just be the way this series fell. It is exciting that one move (Amanda banishing Theo, Wilf getting Kieran out) can tank your whole game though, it makes the stakes feel higher for the Traitors and keeps things exciting.

That doesn’t take away from this being a great and refreshing series, I think there’s some improvements to be made though. I’d like them to mix in some elements that made a similar show, The Mole, work great. I don’t think there’s much tampering that needs to be done, but I think it would be cool if the Traitors could somehow steal the money added to the pot or get something for themselves, maybe that would interfere too much with the simplicity of the psychological game though. Maybe just, like Jay said, make the challenges a bit more high stakes as I agree sometimes they weren’t really light relief or anything, I found myself kind of just sitting through them to get to the good parts of the actual interactions and roundtables at times.

Wilf came across so annoying at the final round table, it was embarrassing to watch him get so desperate.

If he won I actually feel like the faithfuls would’ve been like omg for a minute then would’ve said we love you anyway well done for playing a good game. Despite Hannah being all oh I won’t speak to them again etc.

I was happy with the outcome personally seen as we’d already lost the worthy winner Maddie.

If I was in charge I’d have the murders be in person.. or at least have a scene at the end of each episode of the banished / murdered faithfuls finding out who the traitors are.

I do wonder if it would be a bit more suspenseful for us as viewers if we also didn’t know who the traitors were or does that defeat the point of the show? If we were playing along it might’ve felt more like a guessing game.

Real shame that Kieran got the money, that video is disgraceful.

He didn’t? Did he? Have I missed something?

I also agree it would be quite interesting if we didn’t know who the traitors were either, we’d feel the stress much more I guess.

Kieran didn’t win… he just had one of the best moments of the series.

It would help if I watched the show before commenting... I meant the video from Kieran was disgraceful.

Veryyy glad Kieran was being very sceptical to get them to realise Wilf was a traitor.

So happy for Aaron getting the money! Also glad Hannah finally saw the light.

I didn't buy Wilf's fake, 'i'm so happy for you' act.

the PERFECT ending to this series. To see Wilf cause the banishment of a third traitor only for it to backfire and cause a complete meltdown that sealed his fate is just pure art!

I know there can be debate as to whether Kieran ruined it but I think Wilf could have easily handled it to shut down speculation but his reaction just caused more speculation. Wilf also kinda did the same thing when he led on going for each of the other traitors.

What a show! It’s been a long time since I felt so tense in a TV show. The challenges do need some work as essentially they’re only filler at the moment. The only good ones were the ones that asked questions about the contestants. I’ll look past that though as the rest of it is pure edge of the seat stuff.

So hyped for the next series and all the possibilities that can come out of it. I can definitely see the traitors being a lot less trusting of each other, having seen this series. I think allies will also be less trusting, given Hannah’s Wilf blindness throughout.

There does need to be some reaction of the murdered/banished players learning who the traitors are though.

the finale was PERFECTION. i went through the whole rnge of emotions i thought humanly possible and more. had convinced myself (like most of you it seems) that will and possibly kieran were gonna win it and was really not excited for the outcome, but kieran's final play was beautiful!! and true justice for amanda and alyssa.

i feel it really bodes well for the next season too as the traitors will be more wary of turning on each other, so we are likely to see a different kind of gameplay.

i was even crying at the end with will's speech. i was not a fan but you really have to give it to him for a game perfectly played until the very last day. happy for aaron especially, hannah and meryl were really completely useless to the end, and there was many a more deserving winner in the cast.

This is now airing on Australian television (well streaming). I might need to check this out given how much I liked the Australian one.

Well worth it!!

I finished this a few weeks ago and I have to say I am so glad that the faithfuls won. After Wilf threw Amanda under the bus I was full on teamfaithful. With Alyssa it was a little more organic and Wilf just lightly encouraged it, but he whole heartedly campaigned and designed Amanda’s downfall. Such a snake. I know it’s part of the game but I’m glad his selfish scheming got him in the end. That’s the problem with that sort of person, they never know when to stop.

Mystic Maddy must still be on a high from knowing all along Wilf was a wrong un. Now mystic Meg has passed, we do need a new national lottery psychic…

One of the best things I have seen in a while! I was so glad when Wilf was caught at the end. I didn't mind him until he schemed to get rid of Amanda then I went right off him. Alyssa was a bit earlier so didn't mind that one as much although I thought it was shady of him. Then when he went after Kieran at the end I just thought god you selfish ass, downright greedy!

I watched the US one off the back of this too, and it was also excellent. Alan Cummings was a great host (like Claudia) and the table is gripping! It's all same challenges though which is a bit boring second time, they deffo need to switch them up for future UK series.
