This banger from ThxSoMch debuted at #80 this week after going viral on TikTok. I’d love for it to go higher after Christmas but that looks like it’ll be its peak for now. I was also pretty surprised to find out that he’s Canadian, he sounds a little Sleaford Mods-ish here!

I love post-punk music in general so I'm very happy to see something like this breaking through. Definitely an earworm!

Just checked this out and I am enjoying it - as soon as I heard from Jade that it was a post-punky song my ears immediately pricked up of course :lol: can definitely see the hook being quite an earworm, I wasn't immediately sure about his vocals on the verses but was already getting used to it as the song went along. Like with the Hotel Ugly song this is a totally different vibe than I had assumed from the artist name and song, I was expecting some kind of MGK/blackbear level pop punk trash, thankfully this sounds miles better than that (though it's not too far off what I expected lyrically but I can forgive that x).

 

I love that a song in this style has gone viral anyway - I have been thinking for a while that EKKSTACY (another post-punk adjacent zoomer) is ripe for a hit single if/when TikTok catches wind of him and this is quite similar to his stuff so fingers crossed for that to happen some time soon.

I'm starting to doubt this is going to be top 40 though. It has started to plummet on Spotify and it's not top 100 on Apple.
