Honestly every performance on tour was absolutely banging. I am kinda happy they ended up doing this but I would have preferred it not to be the closer (but yeah I know you keep the biggest hit for the end it’s like set writing 101. But Freak would have been better I think).

 

In Glasgow they got flowers at the end of AYN and it was all super sweet

This song is my favourite Sugababes song (sorry). But it doesn’t work with them 3 and all 3 of them sound off, but I think that might just be because their vocals are better suited to songs that aren’t quite as bubblegum pop. Well, Keisha works ofc but even she doesn’t sound too great in the vid in the opening post (although when they slowed it down and honed in on just the 3 of them without the backing music and just using their harmonies and voices it was nice)

 

Also, isn’t the paper on the stage just the set list?

About You Now is great, always has been! The 3.0 version is the best, however I also enjoyed 1.0’s version.

There was both the set list and AYN lyrics taped on the stage even as late as the Scottish dates. I got a copy of the set list at Glasgow and you could see even then the AYN lyrics.

I didn’t really enjoy about you now at the concert tbh really wished it was not the closer, Freak was FAR better (and is the superior song). I do like about you now it is a cracking song but I am a little bit meh at it being their biggest hit tbh.

 

Also I find the lyrics taped to the floor for Mutya is bit unprofessional tbh. It’s like a few lines and then a chorus they repeat over and over? Take the time to learn the song you are performing for fans and I kind of feel she must have been doing it to make some kind of point (although I am not sure what) as how can you perform it that many times and still not know a few words?

Funny you mention Geri she didn't need lyrics on the floor for Goodbye, Holler or Let love lead the way... and she is one of the most forgetful performers I have ever seen :lol:

 

 

EDIT: She could probably have done with them for Goodbye performances for the Return tour tbf the amount of times she tried to sing Melanie C's parts were hilarious. Some of the fans on Denden were actually convinced she was supposed to sing the lines and Melanie kept denying her the opportunity as she didn't want to share them lol ffs hilarious (as if Geri could EVER do Melanie C's parts :lol: :lol: :lol: :lol: )

To be fair, Katy Perry and Robbie Williams have their lyrics on stage. In fact I think those two have them on a teleprompter screen!

I’ll hopefully get to see this live for myself in February!

Nerves can make you easily forget lyrics + having to remember a Setlist if 15-20 songs. So it’s quite common for artists to have lyrics around if needed.

Let’s not forget that it’s not a song she has had to sing before either. I never saw her look at them at either of the Scottish dates

 

Think that some of the comments in here are a bit much. It’s likely to be a memory aid because it’s something that is important to get right because it’s the song that everyone knows. If they mess up 2 Hearts only a few Stan’s will give a shit and then it’ll be written off as them singing an album track for the first time and things happen. But messing up the biggest hit will be critical for the casuals and they’re who we want to buy and stream the new music

What a load of nonsense some of the comments are a bit much. Nobody is calling her names or slagging her off simply saying it's a bit unprofessional that she cannot learn the lines for her job.

 

I mean compare to someone performing in a West End musical, they have to learn a hell of a lot more than a few lines to one song and would never get away with words taped on the floor. As a teacher I don't always know / remember everything I teach (Maths for example, especially when in Year 6 eurgh) but I have to take the time to re-learn it again can't just get a book out and use that to recite it out. It is a job at the end of the day you are getting paid for it. It's not a problem, whatever, but it's just a bit unprofessional when people have paid to see you perform is all.

I love that they performed About You Now - until their festival sets this year I wasn't sure they would! A large chunk of the fans at the Hammersmith gig seemed to be casuals, you could feel the dip for songs like 2 Hearts, Today, etc (as much as I was loving them myself) compared to Freak Like Me, Round Round and this one too. I don't think most of them will care that only one of the three people performing on stage actually appeared on that single, they've just booked tickets to see Sugababes and will be expecting to hear their biggest hit. Sugababes was something of a brand so it feels good to reflect that, even if they don't venture any further into 3.0 stuff (which I would never have expected and nothing else screams essential anyway).

 

Definitely a bit weird to those of us who are bigger fans though - I adore the song and am personally delighted it's on the setlist but it's a bit surreal seeing Mutya and Siobhan singing it...! As for the lyrics on the stage, I didn't notice at the show itself so it didn't feel noticeable or like a big deal to me.

Mutya gives 0 F anyway if fans have an issue.
