Glad that "Midnights" became your album of the year and my favourites from your honorable mentions list are "F**k You" (mainly because of the performance from Lily & Olivia) and "Big Girls Don't Cry" (Haven't heard this one in ages!).

Contenders for Song Of The Year!

- All Too Well (10 Minute Version) (Taylor's Version) (From The Vault) - Taylor Swift

- she's all i wanna be - Tate McRae

- Cate's Brother - Maisie Peters

- Mary On A Cross - Ghost

- Red (Taylor's Version) - Taylor Swift

- Crazy What Love Can Do - David Guetta, Becky Hill & Ella Henderson

- what would you do? - Tate McRae

- Running Up That Hill (A Deal With God) - Kate Bush

Imagine if Ghost actually beat all of these to #1 here. I know you love as evident from your chart but it topping the EOY would be quite something.

I didn't put in my exclusion rules that Kate is ineligible as well oops but I look forward to seeing her pop up in loads of EOY's!

It would be quite something! Not gonna give too much away but its done extremely well to be top 10, considering it debuted in the chart in september. every other song in the top 10 (and indeed top 20) debuted in july or earlier! :o

shame she' not eligible for you, she's actually the reason i changed my rules

All outside of "Mary On A Cross" are great songs, I haven't heard Ghost's song yet.

Shoutout to Roba who i'm shamelessly stealing this idea from :kink:

These are some songs that are just missing out on the top 200 but deserve to be mentioned!

:o THIEF :kink:

it was too good of an idea not to steal rob, you should take it as a compliment x

So, my final chart of 2022 has been calculated and written (a day earlier than usual :kink: ) and will be published tomorrow evening when i get back from visiting family friends! The EOY will commence on wednesday, but as mentioned, here are:

15 Songs that Just Missed Out On The Top 200

these are songs I feel deserve a special mention despite missing out, some are shaping up to be hits in the new year, some I didn't appreciate as they deserved at time of charting, and some solely so I have a reason to play them again x

Just Missing Out:

Dermot Kennedy - Already Gone

Now, this track is a nice one from Dermots album, but the reason its getting a mention is because its the unlucky track to be #201 in the EOY so it just misses out :(

Hair Tie - SKYLAR

SKYLAR is someone i've liked for a while now. Her single Teenage Culture is a fun bop, and this was the 'big one' for her, reaching #6 just after christmas 2021! It also just misses out at the EOY #202

Conceited - SZA

This one is a tremendous bop, and makes EOY #204 after just 3 weeks on chart! its looking to be a big one in early 2023, can it beat its current #9 peak?!

Limited Edition - Nina Nessbit

Nina isn't someone i've ever particularly listened to, but after seeing several members on here/crownnote rave over her 2022 album Alaskar, I gave it a listen. This one is gorgeous and made #14! It deserves a mention because had it not been so close to Rina and then Taylor album bombs the songs run could have been much better!

Ladies in my crib - Dessy

Another one thats currently charting for me. German singer Dessy caught my eye on tiktok with this ariana grande-esque bop with whistle notes and trap beats and all! It certainly would fit in on thank u, next thats for sure! The effortless bop flows between German and English, and has so far peaked at #15 during christmas, so expect this to do big things in the new year!

Just Missing Out:

Young & Beautiful - Lana Del Rey

This 2013 Lana song from the Great Gatsby film recently went viral on tiktok, and its gorgeous and majestic! (spoiler as the chart is yet to be published at time of writing, but) The track has actually just made my top 10 and shows no sign of slowing down, can it go t #1 in the new year, almost 10 years after it came out?

If I Can Dream - Maneskin

From one Baz Lehurmann film song to another, this was Maneskin's effort from 2022s Elvis biopic. Though not the commercially biggest track from the film, nor the most memorable (both of those go to Doja Cat's Vegas), this one was a minor hit for me, mainly due to Maneskin's previous success!

Everything's Electric - Liam Gallagher

I am not a Liam Gallagher, or Noel for the matter, fan by any means, I find them both extremely annoying. That doesn't stop this song being a huge bop! I liked it at the time, but it deserved more than its #36 peak shows!

I'd Do Anything For Love (But I Won't Do That) - Meat Loaf

One of music's big losses of 2022. Rock icon Meat Loaf. His music is incredible and his death propelled this to the top 10 of my charts in early 2022! RIP meat loaf <3

Wuthering Heights - Kate Bush

Now this has been one of my favourite songs since a child, and it still is. During the Kate Bush resurgance of course Running Up That Hill was the big one, but it reset my attention to this classic, and although its chart run was short, it doesn't change that this is one of the best songs ever released hands down!

Just Missing Out:

Peru - Fireboy DML & Ed Sheeran

I know I know, this is a strange one. When it first charted officially i wasn't a fan, and it soured even more when it refused to go to ACR. But once we were free of its domination, it grew on me slightly and managed a good 6 weeks on chart.

Dancing's Done - Ava Max

#229 in the EOY, the current #1 single on my personal charts {:kink: spoiler alert). Maybe its the worst performing Ava single on the EOY, but its her only #1 out of the 4, and to make it into the top 250 songs in just 2 weeks is incredible!

Little Lies - Fleetwood Mac

Christine McVie was another icon we lost this year. FM are one of my favourite bands so of course the singles led by her made an impact, this made #5. RIP songbird.

All For You - Cian Ducrot & Ella Henderson

I didn't pay the original any attention when it first charted, but when Ella Henderson jumped on it i checked it out. It did consistently decently, spending 12 weeks on chart, though never well enough to get higher than #29.

22 (Taylor's Version) - Taylor Swift

There are 62 Taylor Swift songs that charted this year on my chart... and 26 inside the top 200. there were 36 Taylor songs outside it to choose, why this one. Well because this wasThe anthem for 2022! It was perfect and yes, 2022 was indeed (Taylor's Version) with her domination, so it was the perfect song to round off with!

It's funny you mention 'Little Lies' as it's today's Rheardle track! #spoilers. It's a great track though.

'I'd Do Anything For Love' is an classic of course and so us 'Wuthering Heights' <3

I haven't heard the Taylors version of '22' but really like the original form. 'Preu' is to come in my EOY so don't worry about getting leeched for mentioning it somewhere. It's overstaying had effected it's EOY position for me though but I quite liked it to begin with.

'Dancing's Done' is great too. Seems fair enough for a track that only came out a few days ago

Hey Rob! It is a good one isnt it! I can't keep up with all these different -rdle games lol! the music one i do sometimes though,

they really are classics arent they! And do listen to 22 (TV), its so much crisper than the og imo, though of course not as nostalgic!

thats good that peru isnt entirely hated  its not a bad song, but yeah it did overstay its welcome for faaaaar too long

yeah tbh as i was adding the points from this weeks chart it was close to top 200 at one stage and i was shook! but yeah im sure it'll be higher next year!

thanks for commenting!!

I have to say I didn't mind Peru at all! It did stick around for a bit long in the charts but as a song I think it works nicely, very catchy.

Hey Prete, I agree, its a nice track! and indeed very catchy!

Lets begin the top 200 Countdown! Chart runs for weeks prior to 2022 are in [] square brackets. if there is a tie in points, highest peaking is the highest of the lot. if multiple songs in a tie with same peak, the earlier a song charted the higher up it is. eg:

Brace it - Ishawa ft. Ed Sheeran | 111 pts

psychofreak - Camila Cabello ft. Willow | 111 pts

Immaculate - Years & Years | 111 pts

psychofreak & immaculate both peak at #9 and have same points. immaculate charted in jan, psychofreak in april. therefore, immaculate charts higher than psychofreak

Conor's End Of Year Chart:

#200: no body, no crime - Taylor Swift feat. HAIM | 101 Points

The first of a whopping 26 Taylor Swift songs in the Top 200 comes from 2020 album evermore. This is one of my faves from the album, and it stuck around last January following its entry for the 1 year anniversary of evermore. It just snuck in the Top 200 with its 3 week run so far, after the 2nd year of evermore!

Chart Run: [8-16-20]-27-38-x46-17-36-33...
