Well this thread was quite a trek to read through xx Have got pretty out of the loop with the charts/this forum in the last couple of weeks but I think I'm more or less caught up again now.

 

Looking like LadBaby are still probably going to squeak out another #1 but enjoying the schadenfreude of them obviously being worried they're going to miss out and their sales being well down on last year. I'm glad I was wrong that they'd just be able to indefinitely get the #1 pretty easily. Can only hope this is enough of a bruise to the ego that they'll give up next year.

 

Mostly now just interested to see where The Kunts and Sidemen end up following the last day sales push (I kind of expected The Kunts' last day push to be bigger than it has been, I expect it's enough that they'll still be comfortably top 10 but maybe missing the top 5 this time especially as Sidemen might end up overtaking them at this rate).

 

Christmas #1 shenanigans aside, wow at Sam Ryder still being in the top 5 on the albums chart!

 

The Kunts and Sidemen tracks all rising on iTunes again as it stands! Sidemen are up to 13 different releases in the iTunes top 100. I'm very surprised LadBaby didn't release a new version, I think he may have messed up by doing that...

 

I think this is the first time that LadBaby have released as many as 3 versions - it is a little surprising that they have never gone full shameless and just released 10+ versions really.

Downloaded my versions of Wham on iTunes today!

Presumably the Pudding Mix (:cheeseblock:) of Last Christmas contribute to it’s sales.

Sidemen fans seem much less inclined to download all versions of their song.

Sidemen are not the ones demonstrating the most blatant desperation to be #1… They are yet to make a beg video claiming people will suffer and starve if they don’t.

I guess it is because they simply haven't needed to - they comfortably got number 1 with just 1 or 2 versions in previous years. I also wonder if there are different rules when it comes to their releases, though, as they are licensed parodies of other songs? Presumably the original artist could say "we won't want you releasing 5 mixes that are just you saying sausage roll, thanks."

Can you imagine if someone refused them permission to sausage roll all over their song? CryBaby and the tabloid rags would probably accuse them of stealing from the mouths of charity.

To be fair, it makes sense as their a lot of their young audience probably couldn’t give a much of a shit about the Christmas #1.

Just had a look at my Bandcamp collection, having downloaded the new mixes by The Kunts today (only 40p each) - it says that 4 of the new mixes are in more than 500 collections, with the newest one being in 300. So that is 2300 downloads they have added on Bandcamp today just off the new 4 mixes!

Downloaded Wham! too, I really don’t need the song again but I would really kick myself if I hadn’t helped it on it’s way (back down to No.2, inevitably).

 

Would definitely strongly encourage anybody else to do the same who wants a say in this battle!

 

I just hope 10,000 LadBaby CDs aren’t added on at the last second, but I’m fully expecting that to happen.

Oh god yeah the crushing of our hopes for Sam with those CDs was frankly scandalous. :angry:

 

We shouldn't rule it out as a possibility (but let's hope it doesn't happen).

So we know Ladbaby sold 5k on Sunday, 6.8k on Monday and 7.9k on Tuesday (largely due to the new release of choir version presumably). I wouldn't be surprised if sales on Weds and Thurs were only 5k a day or so. The hype around them seems dead this year...this leaves them on 57k for the week. Wham were on 35k by weds, presumably with roughly 5k of Spotify and apple streams left out. So lets say 40k by weds. They added 8.2k in the previous 24 hours and that will only increase as the week progresses as we get closer to Christmas. Let's conservatively estimate they'll get 8.5k each day on weds and thurs which will leave them on 57k too. Really is all to play for! I think Wham might take it :dance: Everyone needs to download every version you can from iTunes to help in this last push!
