Exactly. It doesn't really make sense to me to want something you dislike to get to #1 out of spite because of some shitposting on here but hey, ho.

 

I mean I can't speak for anyone else but my feelings on the release are sincere, I think it's tedious, exploitative, egotistical shit and their campaign for #1 this year has made me more against it than ever but sure some of my comments have being phrased in the form of silly jokes. Most importantly while i'll be vexed and shake my head at the British public if it does go to #1 (and be elated if Wham beats it and I get the proceeds of a 50/1 bet), I will moan on here and then swiftly move on with my daily life. A forum for discussing the charts (or anything) is going to bring about exaggeration about it beyond how much it actually matters to people by nature.

I agree, what a way to belittle some of the truly valid points made against LadBaby. I know some people are going OTT (and for those in doubt, it's very much not serious) but I think it's actually more immature to want to spite people for no real reason.

 

Well I guess it's spiting people because they think that those are being spiteful themselves...

 

Not saying I agree, I certainly don't want him to be #1 either, however some people take it way too far with the abuse over the fact he profits from this too and then stan their favourite artists who come out at do Comic Relief or CIN when they have an album to promote their new album or TV show, but never at any other time, or release their own charity single which in turn boosts their album sales or personal profile. What about people who work for charities as their main job but get paid good wages from it as well (my husband for instance is a Macmillan advisor).

 

Yes I find it tacky that he is clearly doing this out of self interest and as a chart fan I hate that he has beaten consecutive records held by The Beatles and Spice Girls both very clearly the biggest male and female groups in UK history and that being something really showed that, but some of the comments do take it a tad far on here.
