This was always the original version of I Lay Down, the one we were always supposed to have.

The Swimming Pools version was a mashup Dev Hynes and the girls did at the end of their sessions together just for fun.

Thanks, that does actually sound familiar now that I’ve read it.

It seems like it’d be a great opening track to me.

Do you think they can get enough streaming to chart on Friday, it's a great Christmas present for fans.

I think if it holds up for the majority of the week there’s a chance it might. Sales are that low it could sneak in.

If Spotify is matching Apple Music and it stays consistent through the week then it should do. At the very least they should be able to get into the lower end of the top 100

This is sublime, I'm in shock. I was never a fan of Sugababes but Flatline was my favourite song of the year when it came out! Happy Christmas all.
Why is this the first time I’ve ever heard Beat Is Gone? Stunning.
Now I've had time to digest this I love it even more. Victory is my favourite on this. Love me Hard is class but reminds me of Katy B Crying for no reason.

I've not listened to The Lost Tapes yet, but I'm really excited to dive in asap!

After what the Sugababes (and the fans!) have been through over the past 9 or so years, it feels like such a special moment that they've been able to put out a body of work from the MKS era. Finally there's justice, and a bit of closure too. It also adds to the feeling that the future is looking bright for Sugababes. It's very exciting.

I downloaded a lot of the demos from the MKS sessions, but for some reason I then never got around to playing them (except 1 play of Love Me Hard in 2018 and 1 play of Today in 2022... maybe they came up on shuffle). So essentially The Lost Tapes is going feel like a brand new album for me. I adore Flatline so I'm intrigued to see how the rest of the songs compare.

In a way I'm glad that I won't experience "demo-itis" with my first play. I've kept up with the Popjustice forum thread, and a lot of the members are comparing the demos to the final products - mostly in a positive way, but a common theme is that a lot of them are dismayed by Summer of '99. That intrigues me, but I hope that means that because it'll be my first play it won't sound "wrong" to me.

The release is understandably rather lowkey and I'm sure there's no great expectations for the charts, but fingers crossed it'll chart!

this is a FANTASTIC record

their voices just mesh together unlike any other group i can recall and so distinctly their own. this record also doesn’t sound 8 years sonically

😮‍💨

Omg I'm tempted to listen now

I'm over the moon to have 'Boys' available. Safe to say it's infinitely better than its counterpart, 'Girls'

I still need to properly check out some of these!

So great to hear Siobhan on a record again!

Love Me Hard, Summer of 99 & Metal Heart stood out to me on first listen (& still love Flatline)

I feel like I’m one of the only ones that can’t get into Boys, that is my only skip.

Drum I could also skip but the rest I love!

Victory is underrated!

This is a fantastic little gift, Summer of 99 and the whole run from No Regrets-Victory is just sublime

Still number 3 on iTunes so it's selling something at least. Hopefully it can chart.

Not doing much on streaming though.

I'm not optimistic that it'll chart unfortunately, iTunes downloads are tiny and the Apple Music chart doesn't take into account all the Greatest Hits albums that get streams by default basically...! It's holding nicely there though and I'd love to see it make the top 100.

Been listening to this so much this week, I can't get enough of it

:o

I had no idea about this being released!!! I'm going to listen ASAP, Flatline has made its way to being my favourite Babes related track ever

As someone who hasn’t heard the demos I am really looking forwards to hearing this, I’m hoping to get some time to sit and listen to it tomorrow. Will there be the lyrics to the songs on there too Spotify does that doesn’t it? I can’t understand words without lyrics or signed interpretation.
