I know there was an uproar about the first time, but I genuinely think it's because they never play all 3 songs by an artist in the show is why it got skipped (although they should've skipped 'Shirt' and played the two new ones instead but alas)

yeah i was thinking, its shaping up to be a big hit, they cant skip it every week. I'm hoping this was the reason and also that they start playing it from jan bc it deserves to be played, such a great song

Is there any chance of a few of the xmas songs slipping out of the top 40 by tomorrow?

I imagine the Amazon exclusives that are just about in the midweek top 40 will all drop out at least, although they could very well just be replaced by other Christmas songs as none of us have any idea what is happening between #41-100

I'm surprised Out of Nowhere got knocked of the top 40. I thought it and Calm Down would survive the Christmas charts.

honestly I was gonna say in the 2023 predictions thread that there’s a chance that Escapism might not do as well as predicted overall and might have its longevity cut by another song racing to the top and sending it to ACR earlier than expected… didn’t consider SZA to be a threat at that point but here we are

Escapism is still quite far ahead combined. It was never gonna be #1 this week, I don't think anyone ever suggested it could be, it's always been a race for next week (the week including Christmas Day is always the biggest for Christmas songs). SZA is significantly behind on Apple too before you combine anything so I think she'd need to pick up a LOT to beat RAYE to the top.

They actually quite often play all 3 songs by an artist...! Sometimes they'll choose to skip one though so it's not surprising that they may have chosen to skip Kill Bill. Either way, it can't be ignored forever when it's looking to be huge.

They will play Kill Bill when it gets high though, Christmas Drillings is about killing santa and they played that!

I wouldn’t, this forum is full of Raye fans it seems. I just don’t get why we are predicting NEXT weeks number 1 is Raye. Some superstar might release and “block” her. I can see SZA getting more attention next week too…
