Well we haven't completely ignored this one :P I guess because of Shakira / virality about it being a diss track. (Not top 200 in Finland though :whistle:)

 

Knew it was likely to be #1 globally but that's a crazy debut, beating 'Kill Bill' nearly 2 to 1!

I'm gonna guess a low top 10 debut on Spotify.

 

Will be interesting to see how it holds up throughout the week.

Maybe once Hot Hits UK, Capital and Radio 1 support the Bizarrap and Shakira song, it will break through here, but I won’t hold my breath on that happening. No doubt streaming playlists and radio in all the countries it’s smashing in have picked it up already.

I’d like to be wrong, but I reckon Capital would still ignore it even if it was a Top 5 hit here.

Capital were more open to the small wave of Spanish-language hits we had with Despacito and those that followed than Radio 1 ever was, so I think it's more Radio 1 that would be unlikely to jump on board.

yeah as it's sung entirely in Spanish it's very unlikely that radio will get on board anyway, Hot Hits UK probably won't touch it either unless it organically makes the Spotify top 50

 

I'm sure Shakira's hips don't particularly care if the song is a UK hit or not though given it appears to be massive worldwide.

It seems quite "easy" to get a hit without radio these days (it's not a near-necessity like it used to be) so Shakira would be fine without them I reckon. She mainly needs TikTok and streaming playlists I think.
