January 15, 20232 yr Why are people so triggered by Lewis Capaldi? Anyway, hope Miley makes top 3 Because Ladbaby's off the scene until the end of the year and they need some way to fill their sad lives in the meantime....
January 15, 20232 yr Because Ladbaby's off the scene until the end of the year and they need some way to fill their sad lives in the meantime.... LadBaby and Lewis Capaldi aren't comparable in the slightest and you've had it explained to you in previous threads. But sure...
January 15, 20232 yr Because Ladbaby's off the scene until the end of the year and they need some way to fill their sad lives in the meantime.... Comparing Lewis Capaldi to that Sausage Roll grifter is just unfair. Lewis Capaldi at least makes serious effort to make music (some of which is actually good and some less so) rather than glorified unfunny charity donations, makes self-deprecating jokes rather than beg videos with ludicrous cames and brings up rimming on breakfast TV rather than whinging.

January 15, 20232 yr I think album sales this week could be worse than last week and won't be shocked if we get a new record for lowest weekly number 1 album.
January 15, 20232 yr I highly doubt it's as simplistic a scenario as "sending a cheque" anyway but this has been explained and ignored before Agreed. It's most likely due to the fact it went to #1 so has picked up some extra support because of it! Hopefully it manages to stay top 10 this week. Fingers crossed Miley can challenge for #1 this week!
January 15, 20232 yr Isn't it possible that because he is now #1 he has greater playlisting? Yes there's money involved, wow you really cracked the code with that one, like it's never been a thing throughout the music industry and before Spotify too but was utilised in a different way (IE performances, promo slots etc.). Exactly, I also compare playlist positioning to being the main listed in the new releases in hmv in release week!
January 15, 20232 yr Back in the mid 80’s they used to release the chart at 12.45 on a Tuesday. They played #5, #4, #3, #2 then a run down before the #1, used to be exciting and was always late for school on Tuesday afternoons! Indeed - Gary Davies on Radio 1 back in the day - back then there was no first look or midweek chart available to the public which made the Tuesday chart even more exciting.
January 15, 20232 yr Indeed - Gary Davies on Radio 1 back in the day - back then there was no first look or midweek chart available to the public which made the Tuesday chart even more exciting. I remember the week in 1986 when Falco went to number 1 with Rock Me Amadeus. It had been at 2 the previous week and George Michael was number 1 with A Different Corner. They played 5 to 2 and neither song appeared - I presumed Falco had fallen out of the Top 5 but it was only when number 6 was announced as George Michael that I realised it hadn't.
January 15, 20232 yr Because Ladbaby's off the scene until the end of the year and they need some way to fill their sad lives in the meantime.... I mean I’d say the comparison is more like Ed Sheehan than Ladybaby.
January 15, 20232 yr Why are they playing this even though it'll be in the charts? The hottest record is quite often a song that's also in First Look.
January 15, 20232 yr First time hearing 'Down in Atlanta' (played just before the show), I absolutely love it!
January 15, 20232 yr The hottest record is quite often a song that's also in First Look. It's kinda pointless (no pun intended) to be honest.
