January 15, 20232 yr Miley, Raye and SZA would be such a good top 3! That would be a fantastic top 3. :cheeseblock:
January 15, 20232 yr Could we see other artists repeating what Lewis Capaldi did to get the #1 spot in the near future??
January 15, 20232 yr Well he's not the first to release a shed load of signed CD singles. Think this is the first time it has actually made a difference to the #1 but i'm sure we can expect at least some more examples in future.
January 15, 20232 yr This year marks 10 yeara since Mileys first 2 (and only) UK #1's to date so it would be kinda poetic to get her 3rd. Not that often you get very long gaps in between #1s but the last year has showed us its possible to make a comeback
January 15, 20232 yr Just found out Lewis Capaldi offered Lorraine Kelly (playing the role of Lorraine Kelly) "seven inches of me". KING of Breakfast TV.

January 15, 20232 yr Could we see other artists repeating what Lewis Capaldi did to get the #1 spot in the near future?? I think if there is a market for it from the fanbase then yes but I’m not sure how much record companies will chase the CD single trend - lots of signed ones appear for artists for between £1.99 - £3.99 plus delivery, I’m not sure many record companies will be falling over themselves to repeat Lewis 99p signed CD and free delivery - there must be a loss in that surely?
January 15, 20232 yr I think there have been a bunch of artists releasing physical singles lately Ed did it with Celestial and thats why it went top 10 and before that, he did it for Bad Habits, Shivers, Graffiti, The Joke, Merry Christmas and even Peru Lewis did it with Forget Me prior to Pointless, LadBaby, Sam Ryder-Spaceman, George Ezra- Green Green Grass, and sure Harry Styles with As It Was and Late Night Talking But you need the fanbase to buy them, some have also had CD singles released to help but the single flopped anyway Dermot Kennedy-Something to someone Sam Ryder-Somebody Sigala, Guetta & Sam Ryder - Living Without You George Ezra - Dance all over me

I think there are quite a few examples where it has, such as his own 'If You Go'!
January 15, 20232 yr Yes, Before You Go was trailing Blinding Lights in the final mids before the CDs were added.
January 15, 20232 yr It's amazing how huge Miley still is so long into her career, especially in the early stages you never would have imagined her sticking around particularly long! Particularly when you think how the likes of Katy Perry have now fallen away. I think it's even more amazing when you think she was essentially another Hilary Duff / Lindsey Lohan initially. She has done very well to carve her own identity outside of 'Hannah Montana' and then actively keep it going so long.
