I think it's a lot better than the original (better production, better singer, better rap feature) but even if it was identical what exactly is wrong with enjoying covers?

How vanilla of you :) thought you were more daring musically :D

There's nothing more boring than straightforward covers that add nothing new, I believe in re-inventing the song when doing a cover not copying it not eby note.

ok but stripping a song down to just a guitar or piano doesn't count.

I disagree that 'Creepin'' adds nothing to the original, the massive production upgrade alone adds a lot to it imo. And the 21 Savage verse is new.

I just can't imagine Metro Boomin doing a cover of I Don't Wanna Know. I used to like his songs years ago and they were nothing remotely like that.

This is where it gets messy though: if pre-orders should count when the person orders the CD, what happens if they cancel their order in a later week? What would be the point in ACR if OCC are trying to measure exactly how popular a song was each week

Any cancelled orders aren't counted. The total number pre-ordered will be the amount sent out and therefore the amount counted

Raye to shuffle off this no.1 coil and Miley to perch on the no.1 coil for 7 weeks, as was fortold in the Grimoire.
I guess turning a #2 into a #1 with CDs like with Before You Go, or turning a Too 20 into a Top 10 like with Celestial, felt on a different scale to turning something that would be nowhere near #1 into a #1 like with Pointless. That’s why it felt a bit unprecedented, not that there was necessarily anything wrong with it.

I do think the record company being able to roll up CDs ordered over several weeks while a single is already available and then have them all credited in 1 week is slightly unsatisfactory as the chart is meant to reflect sales / consumption within 1 week and the man on the street would say those sales weren’t all in the same week. But hey ho.

That happens every single week though - albums can be on pre-order for weeks or months before release, the same used to happen with iTunes pre-orders for singles.

I appreciate the Christmas name in January, although not errone does! You must be bravin beef slingin the likes not seen since a Victorian lady showing an ankle by accident! Stay true to the Christmad spirit, as a true believer, and keep it all year round!!

As long as one of them denies Taylor an extra week at the top of the album chart, I’m not bothered who gets #1
It would be good to see Plastic Hearts re-enter the album charts, I wish Miley had a greatest hits by now tbh
Bizarrap/Shakira at #39 yay!
Amazing for Miley! I think that's it pretty much sealed which is amazing so late in her career!
Courteeners could have #1 album in the bag and I’m expecting Miley to increase her lead from RAYE
