Consider me hyped for this! Obsessed with 'God Is a Circle' and I'm intrigued to hear what the lyrics of 'Echolalia' will be like, am familiar with the term from extensive ASD research
God is a Circle is great. I’ve only just listened to it but the production in particular is so striking and urgent, probably the most immediate thing I’ve heard from Yves
'God Is A Circle' is fantastic, instantly my favourite song from them to date I think - very much looking forward to the rest of this era!

The video leaked, yay - sounds a bit more commercial but still a solid post-punk type sound to it so am still excited.

I've now read up on Echolalia having never heard the term before, they had a song many years back called 'Limerence' which I had also not come across, and Caroline Loveglow released a song in 2022 that I loved called 'Zenosyne' (also an unknown word to me) so I've been learning lots of new words lately!

This is out now and it's GLORIOUS - an absolute stunner. *.*

“Lovely Sewer” is wonderful and “Echolalia” just continues to grow and grow on me.. the basslines in this are just so addictive.

There is a music video for “Heaven Surrounds Us Like a Hood” now too

Making my way through listen #1 at the moment and definitely agree that 'Lovely Sewer' is a highlight <3 I see the female vocalist is Diana Gordon / Wynter Gordon.

'Echolalia' has really crept up on me more and more as well, only just peaking now in my chart.

They're such an exciting artist, I'll need to go back through older material, especially after loving 'Lifetime' a lot in BJSC.

 I may have been familiar with echolalia but I definitely didn't know those two!

That 1-2-3 hit of God Is a Circle/Lovely Sewer/Meteora Blues! What a way to start an album 🤩

Absolutely loving this, had loved the songs I’d heard from it already and the rest of it is just as strong. I can see this being one of my favourites of the year, they’re such an exciting artist to be following

Yep, also loving this here. It's just a really consistent album. I'm tempted to use my VMP credit to order their edition of it as I can see me returning to it a lot this year

So impressed by this on first listen! I think Echolalia is even better than God Is a Circle, so groovy and infectious

YES *.*

Also loving Heaven Surrounds Us Like a Hood and Fear Evil Like Fire. Ebony Eye is a perfect closer. I thought my internet connection was buffering during Purified By the Fire

I see the female vocalist is Diana Gordon / Wynter Gordon.

Taste  With the Music I Die is one of the most underrated pop albums of the 2010s

Oh yeah of course, Diana Gordon was also featured on “Kersone!”- absolutely stunning/heavenly vocal. Although apparently it is Kidä featured on “Lovely Sewer” (that could be wrong tho, I haven't seen an official credit yet).

There are tons of amazing samples in Yves Tumor's work- they must have an extensive back catalogue of great undiscovered gems.

I found out from reading a few reviews that the bassline in “Echolalia” is directly sampled from this 80s track by Italian darkwave group NEON:

Oh I see :o I saw quite a few "Diana" mentions in the YouTube comments, so Googled and saw her mentioned in a review, but perhaps not then

I also thought it was Diana at first (and must’ve read the same review as you Jade haha), but I thought it didn’t quite sound like her, and saw about it being Yves’ bass player, Kidä, which would make sense.

Can’t get enough of this, there aren’t any duds for me. Definitely need to get my hands on the yellow vinyl version, that goes so well with the artwork (which reminds me a bit of Björk’s Vulnicura, colour palette and composition-wise 😅)

Bumping this solely to mention that this really is album of the year material, I'm still absolutely obsessed. I love how there's a Blur influence on a few tracks and I also hear Smashing Pumpkins on a couple too. Lovely Sewer is also song of the year material, it's just amazing

I think this is my 2nd favourite album of the year so far only behind Caroline Polachek. It really is amazing

"Hello. Is this the operator?" pops into my head most days tbh

They’re currently the opposite way round for me but can’t fault that choice… throw in Kelela and it’s quite a clear top 3 of the year

The vinyl has finally arrived, although my neighbours took it in for me as I was out and they've gone on holiday so I won't be able to play it for at least a week. :(

Wow! I hope you enjoy the set, my friend went to see them at Glastonbury last year and they said it was really enjoyable.

I wouldn't worry about “Heaven Surrounds Us Like a Hood” not being on there, they were probably mixing it up a bit - it was on the setlist for Coachella.
