Mary Hopkin

Her "Mary Had A Baby" is eternal classic of my Christmas songs playlist.

Laurie Anderson's 'O Superman' is incredibly strange. And the extraordinary speed it climbed to no.2 and fell again for the chart era of 1981.

The recency bias is wild for LewisGT's votes :kink:

(Tbf I see Ashe does have 2 albums already, that's more than I thought)

And Ashe's 'Moral of the Story' is pretty great track to be fair.
I'm away atm so just catching up on this thread. Some really good shouts in the recent batches (Foxes, Jamelia, Jem) but I still don't think I've lost any of mine yet.

Eva Cassidy is a great shout ! If people dont know her listen to the songbird album !
There are some really bizarre artists showing up on this vote. Hopefully my 30 points for Taffy won't seem so out of place now.

What about the oldness bias for chartjacks votes? Well, at least I know Lewis choices.

Is it OK to be more familiar with chartjacks selected acts than with singers from streaming era ?
20/20 for Ed, though the last few have been quite credible choices, even if Carole Bayer Sager is better known as a songwriter.

Oh good choice - I almost gave Taffy the 30 points too but in the end decided to go for the undisputed music Queen, the Greatest Of All Time........Sophie Lawrence. :cheeseblock:

Vassy very interesting choice. Only hit single had very distorted vocals from what I remember..

Both Sophie Lawrence singles were # 1 hits in my chart (six weeks at # 1 for "Love's Unkind" and four weeks on the top for "Secrets")
