Posted February 21, 20232 yr Cast spoilers to follow, but no other spoilers. 🇬🇧 Jonbers Blonde, Tia Kofi, Choriza May, Gothy Kendoll 🇦🇺 Hannah Conda 🇪🇸 Arantxa Castilla La-Mancha 🇫🇷 La Grande Dame 🇳🇱 Keta Minaj 🇵🇭 Marina Summers 🇺🇸 Scarlet Envy, Mayhem Miller I thought that I would do a fantasy season as I haven’t for a while, I have used what seems to be the cast for UKvTW and mocked up how I think a season could/should go. A bit of a mixture of fantasy and prediction I guess plus I think could make an interesting season.
February 21, 20232 yr Author EPISODE 1: Girl groups In our first episode, we see the girls enter based on their home country. First up, we have Tia Kofi, Choriza May, Gothy Kendoll and Jonbers Blonde, making it 4/4 in UK series representation. Gothy is subject to jibes about her being first out, and Jonbers feels the pressure coming fresh from making the finale first time around. They are followed by All Stars veterans Mayhem Miller and Scarlet Envy, who represent the US. The girls seems surprised to see them both, but Jonbers mentions being starstruck. Spain’s Arantxa Castilla La-Mancha is next, followed by La Grande Dame of France, and Choriza is elated to have a Spanish sister in the competition. La Grande Dame exudes confidence but several queens remark they aren’t sure what to expect of a queen they know less of. Dutch queen Keta Minaj is next, followed by Australia’s Hannah Conda. Last to enter is Filipino queen Marina Summers. No sooner than they have settled in, the girls are faced photoshoot mini challenge in which the queens had to pose next to green screened landmarks from the home countries, which is won by Jonbers. The girls are then given their first challenge - it’s girl group week! Having won the mini challenge, Jonbers get to pick her group, and the groups fall as such: Bussycat Holes: Jonbers, Tia, Arantxa, Mayhem Dudepremes: Hannah, Keta, Marina Bang Gals: Scarlet, Gothy, Choriza, La Grande Dame Jonbers is happy having made a beeline for Tia and Arantxa’s pop culture influences and feels that Mayhem is a strong competitior. Keta and Marina struggle working with Hannah, who put more effort into a humorous name than the song or performance, whilst Bang Gals are altogether a bit of a mess with LGD working overtime to pull them together. In the end, Bussycat Holes are by far the strongest unit as a whole, but Marina gives the best individual verse. Bang Gals really struggle but Choriza and LGD end up pulling through with a decent performance. Despite being a group challenge, the girls are judged individually, with Jonbers, Mayhem, Choriza and La Grande Dame being safe. Marina is lauded for her confident, sexy and powerful verse, in which the judges thought she seemed like a ready made pop star, while Arantxa’s joy shone through with a campy but polished verse. Tia and Keta are also applauded for verses that introduced who they are incredibly well. Hannah is criticised for failing to stand out in a group with two strong competitors, but the judges enjoyed her lyrics. Scarlet and Gothy are both criticised for missing much of the choreography, but the judges applaud Scarlet for keeping her energy up. Marina and Arantxa are the top 2, and when Hannah is called safe, Scarlet and Gothy are up for elimination. Gothy remarks this is a familiar feeling and seems nonplussed, but Scarlet is very disheartened. She makes a passionate speech to Marina and Arantxa, saying she has a lot to prove after a muted run on AS6. Marina and Arantxa lipsync to Not Giving Up by The Saturdays, and whilst Arantxa puts up a fight, it’s Marina who is the clear winner. Before revealing her lipstick, Marina says this queen didn’t show a fire within her and she feels their chance here was wasted because of that. She sends home Gothy. WIN: Marina Summers, Aranxta Castilla La-Mancha HIGH: Tia Kofi, Keta Minaj LOW: Hannah Conda BTM2: Scarlet Envy, Gothy Kendoll
February 21, 20232 yr Author EPISODE 2: Ball Following Gothy’s elimination, Tia jokes that at least she’ll go down in history as a two time first eliminee! Marina is elated that she won the first lipsync, while Arantxa feels like she has renewed confidence having won a challenge and going toe to toe with great competitors whilst proving she can challenge them! Tia and Arantxa are both worried when the next challenge is revealed to be a Ball, having both flopped design challenges in their seasons, with Arantxa even going home on a Ball. La Grande Dame is over the moon as this is her bread and butter. The theme for this Ball is… you! With three categories, the queens must showcase looks inspired by their drag name, their heritage and finally a design look that is inspired by one they wore on their original season. It’s a sore point for Tia as many of her looks didn’t go over well on her season, but she looks at it as a chance to redeem them and show how she has grown. Keta, Choriza and Hannah are called safe. La Grande Dame’s looks are considered a home run by the judges, smashing all 3 categories, with the judges particularly loving her Myléne Farmer inspired design look. Scarlet Envy also impresses with a gorgeous scarlet coloured gown as well as a redo of her MILF Eleganza, whilst the judges loved Mayhem’s denim and diamonds look as well as Marina’s LED There Be Light. Jonbers’ ideas are praised but the judges note that she did not nail the execution, whilst Tia is panned for being messy and seemingly not learning from her mistakes before and Arantxa’s looks are criticised for being basic. La Grande Dame and Scarlet are the top 2 of the week, whilst Jonbers is saved from the bottom leaving Tia and Arantxa up for elimination. The girls are gagged that two of the top queens from last week face elimination and everyone feels the pressure as you can be undone by one slip up! Arantxa pleads her case by using her track record of having a win, whilst Tia shows passion and wants to show her comedic chops in upcoming challenges. La Grande Dame and Scarlet lipsync to Circus by Britney Spears, and Scarlet isn’t in her comfort zone so is easily beaten by La Grande Dame. She notes it was a hard decision but feels more of a connection to the girl she is saving, and decides to send home Tia… WIN: Scarlet Envy,La Grande Dame HIGH: Marina Summers, Keta Minaj LOW: Choriza May BTM2: Tia Kofi, Arantxa Castilla La-Mancha
February 22, 20232 yr Author EPISODE 3: All Stars Rusical The UK girls are feeling the pressure, as two of their own have been eliminated and none of them have won yet. The next challenge is revealed to be a Rusical, and having narrowly missed out on winning that challenge on her season, Jonbers feels both hopeful and confident that she can grab a win with a challenge she is confident in. Choriza is disappointed but hopes her own humour can see her through. The Rusical is based around All Stars moments from seasons past, and as the winner from last week, La Grande Dame gets to assign roles. She chooses to portray BenDeLaCreme’s self elimination. The other roles are as follows: Jonbers - a caricature of a villainous Blu Hydrangea Marina - tragic heroine Shangela being shafted by the jury Keta - Alaska’s meltdown and PayPal bribe saga Mayhem - Silky’s “power hour” lipsync smackdown Hannah - Jinkx’s Judy Garland Snatch Game Choriza - Mimi Imfurst’s Untucked outburst Scarlet - “Life’s not fair” Arantxa - Laganja’s Physical lipsync Most people are happy with their roles, but Jonbers is a little worried about being stereotyped into a box. Hannah feels that La Grande Dame was shady with giving out the roles as some queens on psper to have less chance to shine, but LGD argues if you’re good enough you can make any role work. Marina struggles to get into character during rehearsal, whilst Jonbers shakes off the nerves and shines. In the end, Marina pulls it out of the bag and is praised by the judges for bringing comedy and polish to the Rusical, inhabiting Shangela with her own flair, and they laud Jonbers as the panel couldn’t stop laughing at Blu, noting that Jonbers gave 110% to a silly yet integral role. Keta is also given props for her desperately manic Alaska, whilst Arantxa does well with an energetic ode to Laganja. Sadly, Scarlet failed to impress with a by the book Naomi Smalls, whilst La Grande Dame is a source of disappointment as she doesn’t go far enough with perhaps the most iconic All Stars moment. Choriza is also critiqued for not embodying the character and instead playing herself too much. Marina and Jonbers end as the top 2 All Stars of the week, whilst Scarlet avoids the bottom, so La Grande Dame and Choriza face elimination. La Grande Dame exudes an unbothered aura and refuses to break under pressure, feeling she is a strong contender and will be saved. Choriza shows a passion to stay, but admits she feels defeated by not doing well thus far. Jonbers wants to prevent another UK Queen going home and admits to Choriza that getting rid of someone with a challenge win is tempting, as La Grande Dame has set herself up as a front runner so far. Marina and Jonbers lipsync to Soak It Up by Monet X Change, and try as Jonbers might, there is no stopping the lipsync machine Marina, who clinches a second win in three episodes! Marina says she has to play fair and due to track record and a disappointing showing this week, she sends home Choriza. WIN: Marina Summers, Jonbers Blonde HIGH: Arantxa Castilla La-Mancha, Keta Minaj LOW: Scarlet Envy BTM2: La Grande Dame, Choriza May
February 23, 20232 yr Author I just can’t see how Choriza could last longer than maybe 4 episodes or so in this cast! Tia I’m not just THAT keen on oops, I’m sure she will get further than that
February 23, 20232 yr i don’t think arantxa could possibly go further that episode 2 tbh, as much as i adore her. i agree that one of tia and choriza will probably go early too tho.
February 23, 20232 yr Author i don’t think arantxa could possibly go further that episode 2 tbh, as much as i adore her. i agree that one of tia and choriza will probably go early too tho. I agree with that, I just kinda wanted like an unexpected random slayage for the first couple of episodes tbh, it’s her or Gothy as obvious first outs for me if I was going just on predictions
February 23, 20232 yr i’m hoping they cast her and choriza for them to both get a few episodes of ~espanyol~ storyline
February 23, 20232 yr Author EPISODE 4: Design With 3 UK girls gone in as many weeks, Jonbers feels the pressure and is also upset that she couldn’t save Choriza. She tells the others that she pulled La Grande Dame’s lipstick, and the group is split. Hannah backs her up, stating that the show is a game and you play to win, whilst Scarlet and Mayhem feel that the game should be fair, and it is a competition where the best should progress. La Grande Dame teases that Jonbers should watch her back! This week’s challenge is an unconventional design challenge, where the queens must use various recycled materials to create a look for the runway. La Grande Dame is vindicated, feeling like revenge is about to come as this is a perfect challenge for her, and Mayhem hopes to finally break out with a challenge she won before. La Grande Dame is praised for a fashion forward look that incorporates paper and cardboard, whilst Scarlet and Keta both shine with some tin elements. Mayhem took a risk with plastic, but it paid off as she is praised for doing something that stood out on stage that nobody else attempted. Conversely, Hannah’s look is said to be well constructed but basic and left the judges wanting more, whilst Jonbers and Arantxa both went too far and had too much going on with multiple types of material. La Grande Dame and Mayhem are the top 2 and must lipsync for the win. Hannah is called safe, leaving Arantxa and Jonbers up for elimination. Jonbers is nervous as the spat with La Grande Dame is hanging over the workroom, and she could win the lipsync. Both Arantxa and Jonbers have a win, so everyone feels it is a close call and could go either way, as Mayhem promises to play fair. Arantxa attempts to strategise, reminding the top 2 that Jonbers is a bigger threat in inevitable comedy challenges later in the season. Following a lipsync to Red Dress by Sugababes, which is a very close call, Mayhem edges to the win and notes that this was a hard decision. She decided to save the bigger competition as she wants to beat the best and sends home Arantxa who’s looks are not up to par. WIN: La Grande Dame, Mayhem Miller HIGH: Scarlet Envy, Keta Minaj LOW: Hannah Conda BTM2: Jonbers Blonde, Arantxa Castilla La-Mancha
February 23, 20232 yr Not all the UK girls almost out by episode 4. I do think Tia will do really well in the actual show though. She reminds me of Monét or Monique Hart on season 10 where they both suffered heavily on the runway (bad outfits/didn't have the money to have good ones etc). They came back and killed it on their all stars season. I can see Tia doing the same! Also, yes at Mayhem and Scarlett both winning challenges. I hope they do really well on the show, in particular Mayhem! I love her, she's so sweet/talented. I wish she would have gotten a better edit on All Stars 5. If it wasn't so produced to be Shea's season to win I think Mayhem could've made it to the top 4 at least. February 25, 20232 yr Author EPISODE 5: Snatch Game La Grande Dame is downcast that she couldn’t get revenge, but vows that she will not touch the bottom anyway. Jonbers feels that this could be her last chance as last week was a close call, and Mayhem is vindicated to have finally taken off and got a win. This week’s challenge is the iconic Snatch Game, and the cast are excited. Hannah notes that herself, La Grande Dame and Keta had all won Snatch Game before, and this should be a close call and a good show! Mayhem and Scarlet are both nervous as they have never done a Snatch Game and felt fine with keeping it that way. In the walkthrough, the queens reveal their characters. RuPaul loves Hannah’s idea of a bitter and jealous Dannii Minogue who namedrops her sister, and he feels that Marina’s Vanessa Hudgens is a solid choice. He questions La Grande Dame’s Lady Gaga as she has not successfully been done before, both times being a bomb, and is also unsure on how Mayhem can make Angela Bassett funny. Scarlet has chosen to do Fiona Apple, which Ru is ambivalent ar best towards, whilst Keta is bringing Pamela Anderson to life. Jonbers Blonde toys with Holly Willoughby and Claudia Winkleman, but opts for Claudia. Keta, Hannah and Jonbers all smash the Snatch Game, with Hannah getting the most praise for having a great back and forth rapport with some of the other queens. Keta is lauded for embodying Pamela and taking every opportunity for quips and one liners. La Grande Dame is a pleasant surprise, as Lady Gaga’s sense of humour pairs well with hers and there is finally a good Gaga Snatch Game! Marina starts off strong but the judges feel that she lost her way and relied on the same quotes and jokes, while Scarlet’s Fiona Apple is panned for never really taking off and having no jokes. The judges note that Mayhem’s Angela Bassett was accurate, but not funny. Keta and Hannah are named the top 2 of the week, and with Marina placing safe, Mayhem and Scarlet are left in the bottom 2. Scarlet and Mayhem go into Untucked visibly defeated, as they did not expect to do badly. Hannah is elated to have finally won a challenge, and Keta’s confidence surges as she emerges as a front runner with another win. Both queens feel there is not an obvious choice to stay, and they note they are conflicted as Scarlet seems passionate to stay but Mayhem’s only slip up has been this week. After the top 2 lipsync to Rapture by Blondie, Keta wins handedly, and she states that she chose to save a queen she feels could win the competition and has more to show. She pulls Scarlet’s lipstick, sending the AS6 alumni home. WIN: Keta Minaj, Hannah Conda HIGH: La Grande Dame, Jonbers Blonde LOW: Marina Summers BTM2: Mayhem Miller, Scarlet Envy
March 7, 20232 yr Author EPISODE 6: A Family That Competes Together… After a triumphant Snatch Game, Hannah feels confident that she finally could have broken through and push to the end with this momentum, whilst Keta is elated to grab another win and feels like she can taste the crown. Mayhem feels upset that she finally got to do Snatch Game but flubbed it, and asserts she will be back on the top. The girls are surprised with sisters they competed with - and it's a makeover for the ages! Jonbers gets Dakota Schiffer and La Grande Dame is reunited with Paloma, whilst Keta Minaj is paired with Vivaldi. Mo Heart is back to UKvTW for Mayhem ro makeover, whilst Marina Summers is given Eve La Queen and Hannah must makeover her BABZ sister Spankie Jackzon! There’s lots to catch up on, as the visiting queens get the tea on who’s killing the season, and the competing queens share some frank feelings about their competitors! Jonbers and Dakota serve a solid retro look that harkens back to old Hollywood, whilst La Grande Dame and Paloma stun with an avant grade fashion forward look. Keta and Vivaldi also stand out with a sexy and campy story driven look, whilst Mo and Mayhem are applauded for the difficult and intricate outfits Mayhwm created. On the other hand, Marina and Eve look solid enough but don’t have a lot of dimensions to their look, whilst Hannah and Spankie look noticeably less polished than than the others, without much cohesion. La Grande Dame and Keta Minaj are called as the top 2 of the week, whilst Jonbers and Mayhem are called safe, which leaves Marina in the bottom with Hannah. Some of the queens are shocked to see Marina in the bottom for the first time and question whether Keta or La Grande Dame might take out the competition… La Grande Dame admits she is weighing up her decision and is torn between the two options of fair and ruthless. The top 2 lipsync to Sisters Are Doin’ It For Themselves, and the fight is a photo finish as both queens pull out all of the stops. In the end, Ru calls a double win and suddenly Hannah and Marina are in more and more peril… first of all, Keta explains that she has based her decision on the competition, and has taken track record into account, revealing she chose Hannah’s lipstick. La Grande Dame says she really wants to win and will do anything to win, so she wants to get rid of competition, while noting that she has loved competing against the best and feels accomplished in doing so. Her heart wins out and she also has Hannah’s lipstick, meaning we don’t have the potential double elimination. WIN: La Grande Dame, Keta Minaj HIGH: Mayhem Miller BTM2: Hannah Conda, Marina Summers
March 7, 20232 yr poor hannah ;( i think i would much prefer her to stick around over la grande dame! (in my fantasy one of the first outs)
March 16, 20232 yr Author EPISODE 7: Just What They Want With Hannah taken out, we have our top 5, and the remaining queens can almost taste the finale. There is only one challenge between them and lip syncing for the crown. Marina feels like she has a fire under her having been in the bottom for the first time, and wants to win more than ever. The song the queens must bring their flair to is RuPaul’s own Just What They Want, and they begin to write verses that sum up their journey and who they are. Mayhem noticeably struggles in rehearsal and rewrites her verse a few times, whilst Marina lives ir up with a popstar fantasy and loves every minute. La Grande Dame is praised for loosening up and giving a goofy but tight performance, whilst Marina is lauded for her pop girl attitude and the judges love Keta’s lyrics. The judges enjoyed Jonbers performance but feel it lacked a little, whilst Mayhem is critiqued for being in her head. La Grande Dame and Marina lipsync for the last challenge win, whilst Mayhem and Jonbers face elimination at the final hurdle. La Grande Dame and Marina lipsync to Confetti by Little Mix, which is handily won by Marina with her tricks and stunts. Marina weighs up her decision, feeling that either queen deserves to make the final, but she eventually decides that she will send home Jonbers, leaving no UK queens in the final! WIN: Marina Summers, La Grande Dame HIGH: Keta Minaj BTM2: Mayhem Miller, Jonbers Blonde
