I’m guessing the flowers demo has managed a fair amount of streams too so the gap will be closer combined!
Imagine getting all of your original tracks (yes I'm ignoring a demo) in the top 200 and getting cries and over exaggerated talks of being a flop...

and Flowers about to get 9 weeks at #1 possibly 10.. I think a lot of fans hated that Miley made this comeback after 10 years and is ''ending'' all their favs.. and they were silently waiting for any type of ''underperformance'' to lynch and attack and call her a flop.

Yes this must be it

I did think 'River' might do a bit better than this but otherwise would say that's a pretty good showing for Miley - as Dirca said the other day she doesn't have a history of huge album bombs exactly.

Digga D getting his highest debut in a while. Gathering there must have been some pre-release hype I missed for this one. Hoping it follows the trend from the Strandz remix of being a more mature song from him x

I really like this as a whole on first listen.

The second half does kind of go off a bit more but overall I really like this! It’s not quite as brash as Plastic Hearts and I can see some people may prefer that but I really think this will grow on people a lot!

She sounds stunning on this as well (especially on Wonder Woman!)

My only little niggle of wanting more comes from Muddy Feet which I’d have loved to have been around a minute or so longer and maybes an actual verse from Sia. I loved the Brandi collab though

Really hoping this is her second UK #1 album come Friday!

(edit wrong thread!)

last weeks number 1 did 17k... plastic hearts did 15k and didn't have a flowers sized hit.. so if miley doesn't debut at #1 it would be shocking.

people weren’t expecting Miley to do Taylor Swift numbers were they?

I did think she’d get a few more tracks top 40 but it is hardly a flop

Think it could be short lived with Ed putting up a fight maybe, but think both will be locked in for a top two for a while maybe with PinkPantheress and maybe Miley behind for the next month or so.

Is there a worse case scenario than Flowers doing just enough off the album boost to stick at #1 for two more weeks and then Ed Sheeran sitting there for 9 bloody weeks?

Imagine getting all of your original tracks (yes I'm ignoring a demo) in the top 200 and getting cries and over exaggerated talks of being a flop...

This is about what I expected from Miley's album, don't think it's a flop for her. It's not like she's a Drake/Taylor etc... where a significant album bomb is taken for granted.

I might have thought the second single would debut a bit higher and Flowers might get a bit more of a boost but that's about it. You only need to look at Raye and Sam Smith to see that a huge #1 hit does not a huge album sale guarantee in this era. Not that I don't think Miley will get the #1 album, she'll obviously do more than the 10k 'catalogue' threshold and I can't see any other new releases challenging her. Plus we don't know how well she's done on physicals yet.

Great debut for Calvin & Ellie! Ellie needed this just in time before her new album is released! Love that they're bringing back trance to the general public!
It'd be quite something for not only Miley but also Ellie too (and Calvin of course) to get a #1 single in 2023! Here for 'Miracle' getting there though.

Obv it's not a flop but a tiny bit of underperformance,

I really thought there would be more interest, even if curiosity streams

Flowers only improving by 100K, come on, sure everybody was expecting more

I think Flowers clouded a lot of fans perception of the level of artist Miley is.. Younger Now did 45 k and had a #10 hit... . plastic hearts had a #14 hit single and debuted with 60k sales...

Flowers massive success began putting Miley in drake/taylor/ariana discussion and people went crazy.... ESV will probably debut with around 100k sales in the US and everyone will call it a flop.. despite it having a massive increase from her previous albums because everyone wanted her to have 12 more flowers type of hits which is impossible.

Is there a worse case scenario than Flowers doing just enough off the album boost to stick at #1 for two more weeks and then Ed Sheeran sitting there for 9 bloody weeks?

I can low key see it oops.
