In what was their 7th and final top 10 hit and 4th top 3 hit particularly it's 'Galvanize' by Chemical Brothers who get their marching orders next in 4th place. It survived many rounds with people piling onto it but alas it can only go so far as the luck has now run out.

Finally can vote something else now. Think it'll be 'Silence' for me.. a Kylie win is all I want from these remaining but the others are good too.
Freemasons. It's a great cover, but the other two songs are absolutely brilliant classics to me.
I like both equally, but Silence doesn't have Judy Tzuke's daughter doing vocals on an iconic Alanis song that should have been a massive single...
What was the deal with the original Alanis song not being a hit/charting?

I'm guessing it wasn't properly released as a single for whatever reason?

It wasn't released as a single to my complete annoyance :o  In those times it was all about maximising album sales and killing off the single in the States, hordes of classic singles were released in the UK but not the USA. But even the UK didnt have Uninvited as a single, presumably to do with the movie album tie-in and avoid distracting from the imminent follow-up to her massive album (it wasn't on the follow-up, also very annoyingly).

Alanis was really VERY silly not fully releasing Uninvited. Even if she hadn't wanted to detract from the immediate album launch; I'd have it as the follow-up to Thank U. It would have been the only feasible way to have maintained momentum in that era.

I heard a couple of guys listening to Thank U on a park bench out of their phone speaker the other day and can honestly say it's the first time I've heard it 'in the wild' since the 90s  I do, of course, play it quite a lot myself.

Uninvited would have been a brilliant follow-up, and a very probably top 10.
