Last week's relatively quiet week for new releases resulted in one of the most close results till date. It was Berlin-based techno duo Brutalismus 3000 that edged a win with their punk-influenced stomper ā€˜DIE LIEBE KOMMT NICHT AUS BERLIN’, which means ā€œlove doesn’t come from Berlinā€. It is the first single taken from the duo’s highly anticipated debut album ā€˜ULTRAKUNST’.

Yay first time I've voted for the winner in a lil while, g'won Brutalismus 3000

Going for THIRD WIFE this week but was very close between that and The Chemical Brothers!

This week;

Ā

1. Aexhy – Obsidianstadt Unlocked [I like all the colourful elements to this piece, it’s certainly a standout for me]

2. Reinier Zonneveld & Kiki Solvej – Keine Liebe, Kein Rave [A bit of a stomper! Maybe the next Kathaldazia entry perhaps? :o]

3. Tommy Holohan – Pulse love / Heaven's Passage [Another strong techno track that’s right up there this week]

4. The Chemical Brothers – No Reason [Always great to see music from these legends of electronic music, and this track keeps much of a retro vibe going on which is great to hear]

5. THIRD WIFE – Dance [Quite a decent inclusion this week, I like some of the progression in the track]

6. 1tbsp – It's Very Loud [I think this is the second time 1tbsp has featured in these polls now, and I’m starting to welcome it but there were stronger entries for me this week]

7. Sofia Kourtesis – Madres [This hasn’t yet clicked with me, but I will definitely look out for new music from her in the future]

8. Courtesy – Violence of the Moodboard [Not come across this artist before so thanks for the discovery, the song is nice enough but doesn’t really take off for me]

'Madres' for me too!

Ā

Sofia: This song is about my mother, her mother, my sisters who are mothers, my brothers who are mothers, and all the LGBTQIA+ members who are mothers to their communities. Madres has no gender. Madres loves to protect the ones you love. If you get lost, follow your mother’s voice, they will always bring you back. I also want to dedicate this song to Peter Vajkoczy, a brain surgeon who has become the hope of my own mother! He gives people hope by daring the most complicated surgeries in the world; he believes in miracles, love, and the strength to protect loved ones. Life goes by quickly. Life is fragile.ā€

Great: The Chemical Brothers, Aexhy

Very good: Courtesy

Good: Sofia Kourtesis

Decent: 1tbsp, THIRD WIFE, Reinier Zonneveld, Tommy Holohan

Nowhere near as good as last week's list oop but really liked the top 2, have to give it to the Chems, I actually wasn't totally sure what to think about it for the first minute or so but was loving it by the end, all about those acid-y synths *.* The Aexhy track ran it close though, definitely liked this even more than the previous song from them.
