Ha at the contrast.

Slipknot for me too. I have no recollection of that Keedie song going top 20!

13/12/2003 Gareth Gates Say It Isn't So 4 {4}-8-24-27-33-38-52-58->8

The last of seven top 10 hits for Gareth Gates (two further minor top 40s would follow). No sugarcoating this one though it is a right snooze fest.

vs.

25/03/2006 Nelly Featuring Paul Wall, Ali And Gipp Grillz 24 59-{24}-30-30-38-54-70->7

This is more like it! This track went to #1 in America for Nelly but underperformed a fair bit in the UK bizarrely. A track about having mouth jewellery but it's better than it sounds from that description.

Do you have any memories of the following songs and where is your money going on today's roulette wheel spin.

Gareth Gates, although it's a bit naff and very 'reality winner's single'.

Not a fan of Grillz really and wasn't disappointed it flopped.

Oops fell behind with this, these would be my April choices so far:

#1: Incubus - Drive

#2: Biffy Clyro - Machines (didn't think I recognised the opponent 'Wifey' by name but I actually did know it, I think Kisstory must've played it before their rotation became a bit more modern)

#3: Kylie Minogue - Chocolate (an underrated sensual delight, the Nine Inch Nails song is also strong though... hardest one so far!)

#4: Nelly - E.I.

#5: London Symphony Orchestra/John Williams - Battle Of The Heroes (I have a soft spot for some S Club Juniors/8 songs but 'Puppy Love' is not one of them :tearsmile:)

#6: Arcade Fire - Power Out (that Audio Bullys song was a decent discovery but the Funeral era is in another league musically)

#7: Hear'Say - Everybody (this reminded me a little bit of Five - 'Keep On Movin', I see Richard Stannard was involved with both so that may explain why :P)

#8: The Big Pink - Dominos *.*

#9: Slipknot - Before I Forget (Guitar Hero memories indeed)

#10: Nelly - Grillz (feat. Paul Wall and Ali & Gipp)

18/06/2005 Audioslave Be Yourself 40 {40}->1

American band led by Chris Cornell with ex-members of Rage Against the Machine. Hadn't heard this before but it is rather good as a radio friendly rock song.

vs.

03/04/2004 The Divine Comedy Come Home Billy Bird 25 {25}-50->2

Irish one-man band who were just about still relevant in 2004 to have two top 40s although this isn't in his top 10 on Spotify. It's ok I guess but not a song I'd revisit.

I already knew the Audioslave song as WWE featured it quite heavily in 2005. Didn't realise it made it to the chart here tbh. A pretty solid rock track anyhow.

The Divine one is alright as well but yeah Audioslave win!

Easiest choice. Divine Comedy and Lauren Laverne

05/10/2002 Puressence Walking Dead 40 {40}->1

Britpop band from Manchester who I'd never heard of, it was their only hit of the 00s though does not sit in their top 10 songs on Spotify. This song's not bad though.

vs.

14/04/2007 Linkin Park What I've Done 6 39-13-15-18-17-{6}-12-14-20-30-38-58-70R(3)-60-49-43-44-53-55-70->20

Not the fairest of matches today though as we now have one of Linkin Park's biggest ever hits. Of their hits this was the one that I heard the most at the time of release although these days In the End and Numb have proven more iconic. It's one of the better examples of mid 00s pop-rock anyhow so wins today.

What I've Done for me. The one chart memory I have of that is that it got stuck behind Scooch at No.5 on what I presume from that chart run was the week the CD was released, so Linkin Park never did manage a top five hit here.
Hearing 'Walking Dead' it's pretty decent actually. No contest though with 'What I've Done' however :P I have the album it's from and didn't think it was that bad. The singles were good bar 'Bleed It Out' but I guess a drop from what they were pumping on their first couple of albums lol.
