It's kind of a double by complete happenstance, with her featuring on the #1 single (that isn't on the album) and the fact that almost anybody can get a #1 album these days if they try hard enough.

Poor Raye couldn't manage it despite no.1 single, rave reviews, public goodwill and a huge promo blitz so a no.1 album does have some currency

Biography

“I never really think, ‘OK, I’m going to write a song,’” Lewis Capaldi told Apple Music. “My creative process is basically: I sit down with a guitar and or at the piano, and I just start to write.” But the amazing thing about Capaldi is that he’s become one of the most popular young artists of his generation by preserving his songs in that raw, unvarnished state, to provide the purest representation of the pain and longing coursing through his lyrics. Amid the hyper-paced, totally wired world of late-2010s pop, this unassuming Scottish singer-songwriter and former Up Next artist—born 1996 in Glasgow—stopped the internet dead in its tracks with his DIY 2017 single “Bruises”, a stark, piano-based breakup ballad that introduced a voice imbued with the sort of soulful grit and deeply felt heartache you wouldn’t expect from a baby-faced 21-year-old. “Bruises” was Capaldi’s ticket to international major-label deals and tours opening for pop A-listers like Sam Smith and Niall Horan, but he would swiftly join their ranks with his equally rustic 2018 single “Someone You Loved”, another tear-jerking expression of sorrow—inspired by the death of his grandmother—that went to No. 1 in the US and UK, and has since become one of the most-streamed songs of all time. Those singles formed the foundation of Capaldi’s chart-topping full-length debut, 2019’s Divinely Uninspired to a Hellish Extent, which fleshes out his sound with lush orchestration and gospel gravitas but, through songs like the suicide-themed “Before You Go”, retains his fearless flair for dredging up the messiest of emotions. - Apple Music

Biography

When Austin Post uploaded “White Iverson” to social media in early 2015, he was 19, scrounging for ramen and sleeping in a friend’s closet. Plenty has changed, but Post’s appeal is more or less the same. No matter how Platinum the records go, he still has the air of an ordinary guy, a Crocs-and-Bud Light kid from the suburbs who stumbled backward into fame just by strumming what was in his heart. Post didn’t just look beyond genre, he broke it down, mixing the dark grandeur of trap with the anthemic release of classic rock and country. His signature tracks—“rockstar”, “Sunflower”, “Congratulations”—were both bleak and beautiful, spaced-out and mainstream, hip-hop but not quite. The bass boomed, the melodies soared, and there was Post in the middle, rap-singing his woes like a lonely prince self-exiled in the castle. At live shows, there were no dancers, no pyrotechnics, just Post, in a baggy football jersey with a cigarette in his hand, bringing 60,000 people into his bedroom: The pop star as moody teen.

Born in 1995 in Syracuse, New York, and raised in the suburbs of Dallas, Post grew up on a mix of country, classic rock and rap: In one well-circulated anecdote, young Post would get called into the living room to entertain Dad and friends with the dance to Terror Squad’s “Lean Back”. He turned a love for the video game Guitar Hero into a love of actual guitar, playing in a metal band during high school while also starting to explore hip-hop. “White Iverson” led to Post’s 2016 debut, Stoney; beerbongs & bentleys burrowed further into Post’s luxurious, messy melancholy, while 2019’s Hollywood’s Bleeding found him buttoning up and moving closer to the conventions of mainstream pop, all while retaining his peculiar touch. - Apple Music

Who, ON EARTH, is still listening to Green Green Grass?
I must admit surprised that GGG is high as no.9 officially when it's current no.52 on Spotify and not in Apple top 40. Are there lots of other versions or is it higher % of premium streams?

It’s top 3 on Amazon

Think it’s very likely Lewis will be number 1 next week, he’s got signed CD’s and it appears to have had a very strong start on streaming

Alexa is a big fan I believe! Note also that on the chart without ACR it’s low Top 20.

the CDs aren't out until the end of May surprisingly, a week after the album. i'm not sure how they're going to approach this tbh

Is that not the ones for How I’m Feeling Now?

I thoughts the ones for Wish You The Best were out this week

George, Harry and Lewis are making the top 10 look stale. But I do reckon that Rema could go top 3 next week once Ed’s physicals start dying out

I’m going to throw a party on the day that Green, Green Grass leaves the top 40 for good.
