Posted April 18, 20232 yr gP3zuuGav-Y UK Chart Run: 3-4-2-2-3-3-3-5-9-10-15-22-27-34-42-57-67-X-59-40-40 (20 weeks) Breaking into the top half but nonetheless next to go we have an all American hip hop collaboration. Pras Michel was best known as being a member of The Fugees and ODB was a founding member of Wu-Tang Clan. Singer Mya would go on to have a string of UK top 20 hits all in 2001. Interestingly this single, which samples Kenny Rodgers/Dolly Parton's 1983 hit Islands In The Stream, was originally intended to be sans ODB however he happened to be in the same building at the time and accidentally entered the studio in which it was being recorded, liking it so much he asked to be included. It never reached the top here but enjoyed a lengthy top 10 run. It then re-entered the UK top 40 for a couple of weeks 15 years later. To anyone who frequented the forum at the time, I would be interested to know what caused this brief resurgence. 4 tracks remaining!
April 18, 20232 yr 'It's Like That' for me now. I wouldn't say TMD is anywhere near Savage Gardens best though so wouldn't be against that leaving either.
April 18, 20232 yr As crazy as it sounds, Ghetto Supastar recharted in the top 40 in 2013 due to a price reudction on iTunes. Maybe it was the days in which 59p downloads were a novelty, and it might have had a prominent position on the homepage perhaps? Amazing that it amassed enough sales to go top 40 again though. I've voted, again, for It's Like That.
April 18, 20232 yr A good top 4, it's between C'est La Vie and Truly Madly Deeply and despite my better judgement, the former is too iconic for me to target yet x

Now you mention it I do remember those novelty 59p reductions, hilarious to think about only 10 years later!
