Oh yeah, I think it might be a mistake to throw everything and the ktichen sink at it the first week, but I do think it'll stay around longer than BOYZ did either way. We'll see.

But if they didn’t and streaming let them down and say it entered at #54 or something (which is normal in the streaming era) the press would pass comment on it and the Twitter stans would claim it had tanked etc.,

 

Further releases they can allow to grow organically and stagger the physicals and price cuts but I get for the debut why they want/need a strong first week.

I get why they are going for a strong first week and agree with how they are doing it, I hope it can grow organically after though to become a proper hit as such.

Yeah, I mean to be brutally honest, while it sucks that she’s not on the biggest playlist yet and that definitely makes a difference, it’s still a shame that the Mixers who kept Little Mix so popular for ten years and attended their sold out arena tour just a year ago aren’t playing this.

 

She’s not REALLY a ‘new artist’ and already had a pre existing fanbase so the song shouldn’t really be gone from the top 200 after one day.

 

(Plenty of time for things to change but I’m just saying that the Mixers should have kept this afloat while we get the casuals on board)

Seriously though, I was banking on the efforts we were told the label/management had put in. Fanbase is hardly enough - apart from some of the bigger names in the industry.

It's still day 2, so it's not really over. Fingers crossed.

I never thought this would be an instant smash and as I said - I always predicted top 20, top 15 at best for this in week one. I think it'll grow though and ultimately do better than Boyz.

There is just zero hype for this. I've seen no mention of it on my social media timelines (Kylie has been inescapable lately). I haven't heard Gem FM hyping up it and bigging up playing it as a must hear like they often do.

 

I don't see where it fits in on radio, it is a bit dated but doesn't sound retro. Having the CDs and cheap download first week means there is nothing to give it a boost further down the line.

 

I just cant see it doing anything bar nose diving off the charts after the CDs and downloads are gone after 1st week.

Interested for the first look today, I wonder how many CD's she has sold.

 

I think Leigh-Anne will do well and have a decent career as a solo artist, obviously not the same success as Little Mix but still do well.

 

She's in the US next week so I wonder if there is promo lined up?

It was 33 yesterday.

Yeah it’s peak is 32 so far so it’s dropped a little

I am disappointed in Warner. I assumed (judging by insiders saying her team were so good + hearing how they spoke about the launch to the press etc..) the playlist support (across the board - not just Hot Hits) would be far stronger off the bat - #4 on a fairly quiet New Music Friday??? Are they fr????

 

However, y'all are always so impatient :lol: She's not a "new" artist, no. But this is still her first single under her own name (NO COLLAB + where there's not been controversy surrounding her launch/a group split - ala Camila & Jesy). You all know how cruel Sundays (and Mondays) updates are to pop artists. Like, sure say you're disappointed and whatever else, but can we keep the "flop" insinuations and comments to an absolute minimum until we at least have this for 3 weeks/until it's absolutely clear where it's headed or something lmao.

 

I'm still hopeful this will actually take off on streaming tbh. I'll be surprised if it's a "3 week wonder" or something.
