The 11 peak is REALLY frustrating. If she'd scraped top ten it would be so much better PR and to hype her next single.

Shame they didn’t have a 2nd download version to throw out midweek to secure her a Top 10.

I'm getting mixed messages, one minute Leigh is saying she just wants to release music and everything is a bonus so she's not bothered about numbers then in other interviews saying she wants No1 singles and albums and wants to become a global star and make it in America.

 

I think Leigh definitely will care about the charts, as honestly i'd find it hard not to if I was her, or any artist.

 

I'm genuinely interest what comes next as it looks like her trip in the US is coming to an end. Do you think we should expect anything next week?

 

I'm guessing we'll get the R&B version of DSL soon but i'm not really bothered about that.

Every artiste cares about the charts. Forget all that talk of making music for themselves/hard-core fans etc etc. Good chart placement = more money, fame, and other usual indices of success. It's all strategy to prevent disappointment.

The thing is artists like Leigh-Anne need big hit singles, ‘popstars’ are expensive for record companies and they don’t bring in the same revenue from the constant touring rock and indie bands do so they need hit after hit.

 

The label will be reluctant to progress with an album or big budget videos etc., if the result is 11-51-x

The ‘Hot Singles’ chart is a bit like Billboards ‘Bubbling Under’ chart - for songs that are growing in popularity.

I'm not quite sure that would have been enough to bridge a 3k gap.

Do we think any good promo will come this week or is the song dead and buried? :(

 

"Only" drops to #56 in the Monday Midweeks, which isn't a terrible result, but I'm doubting now it's got much of a chance to be reborn.

It was never destined to be huge, but I'm surprised that this has done as badly as it has, it's a perfectly catchy track.
Yeah the song is a total bop. I feel like the video REALLY didn’t help because it doesn’t encourage many people to share it or replay it because of how dark it is.

It would have been like a 35-52 fall had it not been for the physicals in the first week, which doesn't seem quite so drastic.
