Quite like this. The chorus is basically ‘Who Wants to Live Forever’ by Queen with different lyrics though.

I think that is intentional? The Brian May inclusion is a giveaway and it was written with Tom Howe for Ted Lasso and there were lots of Queen tidbits in the episode. Otherwise he or his regular guitarist would perform it.

Crazy to see a sales #1 only hitting the lower reaches of the top 40 all in. I really think they should air the sales chart on one of the radio stations. Why not on radio 2?

Melanie C’s Anymore was a sales #1 and didn’t even chart in the top 200.

Anymore was #1 in physical sales - we're talking about the downloads + physical sales chart.

I really like this song, i wonder are these songs going to be on a new album or is he releasing his debut.

Fought & Lost is a standalone single for Ted Lasso. Jason Sudeikis attended the Taylor Hawkins Tribute Concert and asked Sam to collaborate on a song with the concept to foreshadow the season finale. It's a tribute to Freddie Mercury as in the storyline he is revealed as a former owner of the football club.

I’m literally obsessed with ‘Fought & Lost’ now what a…. masterpiece!

:cheer:

All of them are surprised how much fans noticed it and resonated with the lyrics since it aired.

Up to Number 1 on Shazam in UK, USA and Canada and Number 10 on Global Shazam which is great because it's their focus song for season 3 :cheer:

That's all from the 2 minutes it was in the background really as it wasn't promoted on NMF! :P

The Sun are reporting that he's parted ways with Parlophone and he now has no team behind him :(

Wasn’t he in the studio with Aitch like… yesterday?

That could be something to be released under Aitch’s label.

It was reportedly a 1 album deal and after that they had some creative differences and decided to part ways. I don’t think it’s a bad thing, no matter the reason tbh. He’s a free spirited kinda person and he should stay true to himself instead of pivoting into some weird label mainstream pop sound when he’s a metal head at heart. Going by his latest social media activity he seems happy enough doing whatever he’s doing.

Sam is talented, but I think Parlophone fumbled his career after Eurovision. His EP was good but his singles were messy and his album, while number 1, was rushed. The David Guetta/Sigala collab was a missed opportunity.

WMG had a major restructure which resulted in the unceremonious firing of the Parlophone team behind his success. WMG's new focus on chasing TikTok trends would unlikely to interest him but either way, Sam is resilient and will bounce back.

His album wasn’t bad to be fair. I hope it was the kind of songs he wanted to put out though as I would hate some radical sound change for upcoming music!
His album has only gone Silver. I suspect Parlophone are quite disappointed with the commercial results of his campaign. They must have expected him to blow up internationally as well.
