June 19, 20241 yr Who Knew. I feel like it was a bigger hit in 2006 than its #5 peak suggests. It was everywhere!

This would go on and peak at #6 in the UK, which would be her highest single to chart out of the two singles that she released. This cover from Jennifer isn't great, sorry not a fan of this, I very much prefer the original. Original: pMKw1bBzFXI 2007- Calvin Harris- The Girls DwZVZ5qZnoA 'The Girls' was the second single from Calvin Harris' debut studio album 'I Created Disco'. This would go on and peak at #3 in the UK which was his highest charting single in the UK at the time. This is a great song from him, for EastEnders fans they would probably remember this song particularly for a certain trailer which involved the introduction of Ronnie and Roxy Mitchell. That Trailer: Ng-kY7ey-Zk At Ronnie's Wedding: 5vS6yzomrdY 2009- Freemasons ft Sophie Ellis-Bextor- Heartbreak (Make Me A Dancer) bWkP-mt_bOk 'Heartbreak (Make Me A Dancer) was an collaboration between Freemasons and Sophie Ellis-Bextor. This would go on and peak at #13 in the UK, I can remember being frustrated that this didn't go Top 10 hadn't heard this for a while until the revival of 'Murder On The Dancefloor', it still sounds great from Sophie.
June 27, 20241 yr 'Who Knew' Also like 'New Beginning', 'New In Town', 'Forever and Always' and 'If I Were You' - this I only came across last year via my friend playing it. 'World At Your Feet' is also quite good as far as Footie songs go. Doesn't seem well remembered though. Bought the single of Jennifer's 'Baby I Don't Care' :P of course it's nothing spectacular but at the time was into it.
June 28, 20241 yr Author Bought the single of Jennifer's 'Baby I Don't Care' :P of course it's nothing spectacular but at the time was into it. Many thanks for commenting, Roba. Unfortunately I didn't remember Jennifer's version until doing this series,

Amy Connolly's X Factor Audition qDcc94FengI 2002- Ronan Keating- If Tomorrow Never Comes S4kzGhDEURA I apologize this may not be an popular choice, it is 'Tomorrow Never Comes' from Ronan Keating's second studio album 'Destination'. This was originally done by American country music artist Garth Brooks. Ronan's version would go on and become his third UK #1 where it would stay for one week before being knocked off the #1 spot by Liberty X. This is a song that I remember always seemed to be played in the background when I was at supermarkets. This is OK but probably isn't one that I would go out my way to listen to. 2003- S Club- Love Ain't Gonna Wait For You P6L-Dg8o-xA 'Love Ain't Gonna Wait For You' was included in the double A-side of S Club's last single with 'Say Goodbye'. 'Love Ain't Gonna Wait For You' was included on S Club's fourth studio album 'Seeing Double'. This isn't one that I'm familiar with this from S Club. This sounds all right from them.

This would go on and peak at #5 in the UK. This was on repeat during 2008 on my playlist when this came out, this is a great song from September, one that I couldn't tire of, it will probably remain on any dance playlist that I have forever. This was sampled in 2022 by Charli XCX on her song 'Beg for You' which featured Rina Sawayama. Was Sampled: hw_Gtwdnp1Q

This originally would chart at #54 in the UK when it first released in November 2003. Seven months later, this would re-released where it would peak at #12 in the UK. This is one that I do remember when this was released.
July 17, 20241 yr I love that Dee Dee song its a bit of an epic, quite a lot of those sort of eurotrance-pop songs made the charts in 2002. JulianT will be on 2002 top 40 hits on his thread in a few weeks - looking forward to that! Edited July 17, 20241 yr by TheSnake
July 19, 20241 yr Author I love that Dee Dee song its a bit of an epic, quite a lot of those sort of eurotrance-pop songs made the charts in 2002. JulianT will be on 2002 top 40 hits on his thread in a few weeks - looking forward to that! It certainly is a bit of an epic, 'Forever'. Many thanks for commenting, TheSnake, very much appreciated, :) 3 good picks there: “Laura” > “Forever” > “Chocolate” but they’re all strong. Many thanks for commenting, Julian. very much appreciated, :)

This would go on and peak at #3 in the UK becoming Anastacia's most successful single in the UK. This would come 70th in my Top 100 Songs of the 2000s which I did back in 2015. This is what I said about it at the time: This memorable song from Anastacia it is at #70. I would be singing this to word and word. This was the 7th biggest-selling single in the UK of that year. This song is actually about her strained relationship with her estranged father.. 2007- Amy Macdonald- Mr Rock & Roll _nkJgw0dvOk 'Mr Rock & Roll' was the first full single from Amy Macdonald's debut album 'This Is The Life'. This would go on and peak at #12 in the UK becoming her highest charting single. This is one that I haven't heard for a while from her, it does sound great from her. I particularly liked 'This is the Life' from her, which has been an answer I given twice on Never Mind The Buzzjacks but instead it was 'End Credits' from Chase & Status/Plan B.
July 25, 20241 yr Like all 3 of those. 'Mr Rock n Roll' is underrated and a shame Amy didn't much more success.

This would go on and become their highest charting single in the UK by peaking at #2. This is probably one of my favourite songs that Scooter did, hence I did vote for them during this year's 'Buzzjack Ultimate Group'. Again this would probably be a staple on a 2000s dance playlist. Original: kln_bIndDJg
August 2, 2024Aug 2 'Affirmation' was one of those songs I recognised but didn't know the name of for years! I finally placed it when I started listening to Scott Mills' Radio 2 show as he's played it a few times now. 'Castles In The Sky' is my favourite from that latest batch ^_^
August 3, 2024Aug 3 A fan of all of those. Safe to say Scooter were a big step up from the Celebrate The Nun project that members first started in the 80's!

It is one that will be on the playlists for me. 2007- Avril Lavigne- When You're Gone 0G3_kG5FFfQ I apologize it is a double helping of Avril Lavigne this week, 'When You're Gone' was the second single from Avril Lavigne's third studio album 'The Best Damn Thing'. This would go on and peak at #3 in the UK, In the US this would go on and peak at #24 in the Billboard Hot 100. Bit of an controversial opinion, but I do prefer this to 'Girlfriend', however I can see why people might not like this song.

This would feature a rapper called Carlprit, who went on about 'everybody in the club'. This would somewhat infamously reach #1 in the UK by beating the late Michael Jackson's 'Man In The Mirror' It would remain at the #1 spot for two weeks. This I remember, I can remember although I wish I hadn't being obsessed with this song, this was on the playlist during the summer of 2009, Now, it is one that I would listen to now and again, probably one of those songs why I think oh blimey what I was listening to. This would be Cascada's last UK Top 40 hit.
August 22, 2024Aug 22 Author This Week: 2000- Hi-Gate- I Can Hear Voices Ba8zRcrI3iM 'I Can Hear Voices' was part of a double A-side which included 'Caned And Unable' from the dance pair of Hi-Gate which had DJ Judge Jules and Paul Masterson.
