Surprised it's crept up so quickly! Hoping I'll have time to watch a bit of it, particularly given some countries are taking part that you'd be very unlikely to see at the men's World Cup (Vietnam and the Philippines being good examples).
None of the major European countries have signed up for a broadcasting deal. FIFA are holding out for more money than broadcasters are prepared to pay.

England manager Sarina Wiegman says former captain Steph Houghton was "in our conversations" despite being left out of the World Cup squad.

Houghton, 35, has not played for England since 2021 and never under Wiegman.

The absence of senior players Leah Williamson and Fran Kirby due to injury had led to calls for Houghton's return.

But the Manchester City defender, who captained England for eight years, was not named in the 23-player squad.

"She has been in our conversations all the time too for the defence," said Wiegman, when asked if Houghton had been considered.

"With the whole technical staff we have spoken about that. I had a conversation with her yesterday."

No surprise, it's something to do with FIFA being a corrupt organization again. Something to do with a bundled deal with the men's tournament and FIFA allotting all those funds to the men's tournament instead of splitting it up between men's and women's'.

Thank goodness it will be televised in the U.S. via FOX as always.

That's great to hear! It's an exciting squad with a good balance of talent and experience.

Alex Morgan (34) and Megan Rapinoe (38) might be in their last World Cups, with Rapinoe accepting a 'super sub' role this time. Young riser Trinity Rodman might have a recognizable name as she indeed the daughter of former NBA star Dennis Rodman. Julie Ertz and Rose Lavelle are both very important parts of this squad and are both coming off injuries.

Roughly a month to go until this starts. Any winner predictions?

I would have said England a few months ago but it seems like there is an injury crisis going on there so I doubt they will win it now. Probably will end up being USA by default.

Best Chance: USA, France, Sweden, Germany

Secondary Group: Netherlands, England, Canada, Brazil

Darkhorse: Spain, Australia, Italy, Japan

This is coming round quickly!

I should've expected it with it being on the other side of the world but those match times aren't the easiest to follow along with! I should at least be able to catch some of the games before work and during lunch.
