I believe that old songs should only get an automatic or requested reset if it would result in the song gaining a new peak ie. Miguel, The Weeknd and Kate Bush
'Getaway Car' really was such a missed opportunity.

(As was 'Cruel Summer' of course)

Did Getaway Car really not even make the daily chart in 2017?
Out of The Woods - Getaway Car - Cruel Summer are my Taylor Trinity!

They sound impeccable back-to-back too!

I hate all three

Which in this case it most definitely would as it only peaked at #27 in 2019

In that case, it should be granted a reset but I do think that instead of re-releasing a song from 2019, to focus on releasing more songs from the current album

She's not re-releasing it, it's the 5th single as originally planned but never released until now, Taylor had everything planned

The Album has no more singles, Karma was already a stretch

Pushing Cruel Summer is the right move

Or maybe the power of Tik Tok was just too much that they decided to just go with it and lean into it becoming a fully fledged single like it was supposed to be in 2020 but C*vid thwarted it and prevented it from becoming a single when they originally wanted/intended it to do so.

There's no point in releasing another song to get overshadowed (both 'Lavender Haze' AND 'Karma' have been overshadowed) that won't impact as much as a song which seems to have organically taken off on Tik Tok... just lean into it.

It's absolutely the correct thing to do. She doesn't get sleeper hits like this, so I am glad they are jumping on the opportunity for one. And honestly it's looking like it could be really huge

I'm so desperate for 'Out of the Woods' to get its moment in the sun one day, like it should've done originally. It's absolutely majestic.

Did Getaway Car really not even make the daily chart in 2017?

Reputation wasn't put on Spotify until December 1st 2017, 3 weeks after the album had been released

Would you believe she actually has 16 songs that are popular on TikTok right now!!!!!11

Tbf if anyone had 16 songs popular at once on tik tok Taylor would be in the equation

Seriously the label would be stupid not to take advantage and ask for a reset but then.again, taylor has been known to not care about chart positions in the past

I think Arctic Monkeys or Doja Cat are good bets too.

I think it's the right thing to do, it re-entered the Hot 100 top 50 before they announced it as a single, that's something you can't let go to waste imo. All the album tracks from her current album dropped out the charts fairly quickly considering their incredible first week performance. And The Weeknd and Chris Brown recently got big hits with songs from a few years ago too.
