What should have been a single from Dannii's GIRL?

I don't think anything could've saved it at that point and at best would've gone top 30, but since Someone New and Keep Up With The Good Times weren't on the album those are out. If It Moves - Dub It is terrible, so no.

 

It's not my favourite, but considering Movin' Up had already been a hit in some markets, it might've been the one song that had the best shot to do anything even if it doesn't fit the overall vibe they seemingly were going for.

Moving up is awful! I would take that and if it moves dub it off the album and replace it with other songs made at that time.

The era was over with single 2 in the UK - I think a 4th single would’ve been a #39 smash whatever it was.

I don't really think any of these are missed opportunities or single material per se, although a few of them are really great tracks.

 

Probably 'Someone New' (which should've been included in the first place) or a shortened, remixed version of 'So in Love With Yourself' at a push?

I am curious what people would have picked, and not so much on if it saved the GIRL album as we know that campaign was garbage!

I think they same, they messed it up with everything i wanted and it killed the momentim.

So in love with yourself would have been an amazing anthem as we all know someone like this! Plus the video could have been amazing!

I’ll never understand why they deemed it appropriate to release ‘Girl’ 4 weeks after AIWD after she had been away for 4 years - people liked the song but hadn’t heard enough to invest in the album :drama:

I hate the label blew their load and got too excited when All I wanna do smashed top 5. They really should have waited till the second single at least.

 

Shame the album was rushed and contained left overs from 1995 sessions. Imagine Dannii was given more time to record stuff.

Releasing an album on the back of 1 single was common enough back then though,

'Heaven Can Wait' was rumoured to be released as the 4th UK single due to it having several remixes commissioned for it, but was scrapped due to 'Disremembrance' flopping.

And wtf convinced them to release Coconut in Australia when there were other great tracks.

Heaven Can Wait was sent out to the clubs around the release of Everything I Wanted, probably to keep her presence there.

I love the Heaven can wait remix on GIRL as it's beautifully done and elevates the song. Whereas the album version falls flat.
