Thanks for hosting Addy, and I guess maybe looking forward to you hosting again in a few months.

Addy has already posted that he doesn't want to host the next contest so I will be your host next time.

Ah oops I missed that post - shall look forward to your hosting instead then!

Whoops, completely forgot about that Sharon Doorson version of Touch Me There that was sent to Reinvention! :o

I did last year

by another Dutch female DJ, Kim Kaey, which was in my end of year top 10, but never did get round to sending it in the end, so figured I'd just send the original to this as it's a 90s piano house banger. But maybe I wouldn't have been allowed it in BJSC anyway as it was a cover of a spin-off entry!

I think it would have slipped through the net - it took me a while to find the other version of it that had been sent to another contest after hearing the Total Touch version on SyncTube, recognised the song but completely forgot who did the cover and the title is a bit generic to search for haha.

Thank you everyone again for the kind words and I am so happy that you all enjoyed the theme!!!

Also big thank you to all the Saint Etienne voters except you Brer and Cow P...lol I am just teasing.

It was actually interesting to see everyone voting for Saint Etienne (6 x 12's, 4 x 10's and 4 x 8's) right up till the end when Cow P and Brer submitted votes...I was like is this going for some sort of a record that everyone will vote for a winning song?!!

Thanks for hosting Addy!

So chuffed Roads did so well, it’s long been my favourite Portishead song and deserved more than album track status. Blown away by having a top 3 100+ point finish after last time! Thanks for all the votes

Dandy* - what Portishead track would you have sent?

If I've counted correctly, Saâda Bonaire should be 5th with 13 votes to Blondie's 12, so I'll take 6th.

For the other tied position, Heart beat Texas by 8 votes to 5, so their places on the scoreboard stay the same.

A worthy winner. I'd have probably given it at least a 6.

I also tried to submit Cocteau Twins, Portishead and Texas but was beaten to the punch by other entrants. I'd have gone for different songs, though.

Fabulous contest. And Top 10 (only just!) Thanks to all who voted.

Also, just realised in all three contests, my 12 pointer ended up winning!

Looking forward to the next one

You sent the right Portishead song, Roads has always been my #1 PS song and always amazed it was never a single

Really thought Roads was gonna win over St Etienne, I actually thought people would "penalise" Only Love for being such a well known song

while Roads had never been a single

Best surprise for me was Boa, loved it to pieces and had never heard about the song or band before

Also had some disappointments, love Siouxsie, Eurythmics, Texas, but the songs submitted were no good.

I never I was not gonna do that well with All About Eve cos they've never been a hype thing, but it used to be my fav band as a kid. They were very hippie and folk and a bit goth too and I was 1000% obsessed with them. As many 80s bands they only lasted 2/3 albums and that's it but their self-titled debut is one of my fav albums ever. They even managed a top 10 with the song Martha's Harbour and they had quite the infamous peromance on Top of the Pops :o

Thank you jim, I didn't even think about the tie's...I'll update the scoreboard.

Ooh yay did not expect 5th! Big fan of that whole top 5 (Portishead just missed my votes), congrats Addy on the double win ^_^
Ooh yay that Saâda Bonaire did win the tiebreak for 5th place! (The Blondie song was 11th for me, only one place behind Saâda Bonaire, so would have been a fine top 5 finisher too but there was a fairly big gap between 10th and 11th for me hence not including any commiserations in my PM)

Thanks Addy for organising and a worthy winner too, I adore Saint Etienne, and Monsoon is also fabulous so the right top 2.

I thought for a while Texas were on for nul points, but thanks everybody who voted for Tell Me The Answer, it's totally Prince-inspired blue-eyed soul and I was annoyed it was never a single, esp Jester and Rich for the Bronze votes.

Phew at Eurythmics getting some points too, they were 11th for me - Touch is a fabulous album, but I'd have opted for No Fear No Hate No Pain another wonderful non-single that should have been a single.

Thanks all!

I thought for a while Texas were on for nul points, but thanks everybody who voted for Tell Me The Answer,

I was attempting to submit Saint from the same album. I wonder how well it would have done
