Maisie!!!! :cheeseblock: :cheeseblock:

I’m so happy she got that #1 in the end!!! ❤️❤️ Such an incredible album and so so deserved!! Hopefully next up is a top 40 hit! (Lost the Breakup deserves to smash, and I feel like if she pushes You’re Just A Boy that could maybe be a minor hit)

Biography

Blending classical vocal artistry with beats inspired by modern R&B, reggae and hip-hop, Jorja Smith has risen to become one of Britain’s most exciting soul singers since her debut single, the searching, Dizzee Rascal-sampling “Blue Lights”, came out in 2016. Born in Walsall in 1997, Smith began studying music at an early age while listening to reggae, dub and soul music on her own, and her YouTube covers of hits by Alex Clare and Tinie Tempah garnered her notice from industry bigwigs. Smith’s second single, the glossy “Where Did I Go?”, was praised by Drake that July; a few months later, she released her debut EP, Project 11, and was named to the BBC’s Sound of 2017 long list. Drake invited Smith to tour with her and appear on his project More Life in 2017, and later that year she collaborated with American urbano star Kali Uchis on “Tyrant” and toured the world with Bruno Mars. Smith kicked off her 2018 with the BRIT Critics’ Choice Award, and soon after, she put out her debut full-length, Lost & Found, which showcased her defiantly honest songwriting, effortless genre-mixing and supple voice on tracks like the soulful “Wandering Romance” and the downtempo “On Your Own”. - Apple Music

SO happy for Maisie, so deserved!! :cheeseblock:

Little things 😍 woo a bop

I wonder if Barbie World could potentially overshadow it?

I feel like it might overshadow it in the US but I feel Dua will still have the bigger hit here even post-film release

Good for Maisie, and nice for Diamonds to finally get a better peak.

The album itself actually sold this week too for once, it wasn't only driven by the Elton playlist.

Loreen still holding up well tbh! Not sure which radio stations are playing it still.

Little Things is such a BANGER! I just love the production. It's so rich and layered. Also complimented with Jorja's gorgeous vocals .
hope this climbs into the top 10
It was just 'Umean'

Fair :magic: I was wondering if it might be changed to 'whatumean' or something lol x

Interested to see how close it ended up being between Maisie and Elton. Not a fan of Maisie's music at all but well done to her x

I do much prefer the music of Elton John to Maisie Peters, but from the standpoint of new music going to #1 over a greatest hits, good to see her having kept the #1 for the week.
knew it hadn't done enough, especially with being like 125+225 on Amazon

This had such an odd run first time round by going Top 20 and diving out again the next week.

Glad it's back... but I guess it might do the same this time as well?

YAY at Stephen Sanchez with a new peak! Can't wait for the upcoming '70s-themed album.
