July 6, 20232 yr I feel like this is nothing more than her social media team wanting to ride the Barbie wave by sharing that image, for the engagement? As much as I'd love for her to be a part of it, I can't really imagine why she'd be kept a secret. P.S. Kylie really reminds me of Cat Deeley in that image!

Yeah you probably are right, like I say I've not seen anything other than speculation on Twitter that doesn't seem to stem from anything remotely credible. I think the fact names/tracks have been held back from being revealed has meant people are just putting forward any possibilities. When I came across the image I didn't think it was Kylie at first either, not sure who I thought it was but it does look very much like Cat Deeley! I wonder when the photo is from? Around the 'Light Years' era perhaps? Just seen this tweet: @1677012064102121473 "Personal, idiosyncratic tie to Barbie" doesn't scream Kylie to me.

July 7, 20232 yr Well if indeed there will be no more Padam Padam promo and Barbie comes out in a couple of weeks maybe she does get a feature haha and that's why she will busy with that. Is the Barbie Movie the reason why they delayed the album release from last year? Doubt it, but fun to create rumours

July 7, 20232 yr The build up to it has been big for it to be Kylie - don’t get me wrong she’s OUR icon but she is not a global superstar, some people would be like ‘who’ (as shocking as that seems). Equally I also think it could happen - with Vegas on the cards and the amount of US promo maybe they have got this as part of their strategy?

July 7, 20232 yr The build up to it has been big for it to be Kylie - don’t get me wrong she’s OUR icon but she is not a global superstar, some people would be like ‘who’ (as shocking as that seems). I think a lot of us are overrating the Barbie soundtrack and simultaneously underrating Kylie's popularity in the US. Honestly, these days in most music circles, everyone knows her name and she has the same kind of rep as ABBA (not that high) in a "hugely hugely successful outside of the USA, we dumb yanks didn't catch on". So, she could be the big superstar that Mark is talking about. Honestly, and having seen the trailer of the movie, I doubt a Taylor Swift or a bonafide "well known in the USA" superstar (like Adele) would want to sign on for it. The only other one I can think of is Miley Cyrus as Mark Ronson has had a great working relationship with her.

So, she could be the big superstar that Mark is talking about. I lived in the US for almost 6 years (I was living there during the ‘Golden’ era). I went to all her promo and shows when she was over (Bowery Ballroom etc,) and none of my US friends were interested or commented is ‘She the one that done Locomotion’ (I used to hear that song playing on Walgreens etc., too :lol: ). I think she has a cult following and obviously a big gay following but I’m not sure the regular American would know she’s released anything since CGYOOMH.
