I’m hoping for Olivia to avoid ACR before her album is released

Taylor Swift seems to only release her albums in quiet weeks, I remember her album was released the same week as Adele in America so she put it back a few weeks as she knew she had no chance against Adele, which she didn't.

Pretty much any artist with a chance of the top spot will be selective over which week they release, this is not exclusive to Taylor

and I imagine lots of artists deliberately choose not to release in the same weeks as her, such as Nothing But Thieves this year.

I'm glad people agree with me. I have no problem with Taylor Swift having 100 number one albums as long as they are new albums, not re recordings. Madonna set records to be broken, I just want it to be done fairly.

It is not a new album! At best it's a deluxe edition. It's a fake number one.

I’m not a huge Taylor fan, I mean I like her for sure but wouldn’t call myself a proper fan. I know it’s not about opinion, like it’s just fact that the album is new, it’s got new songs on it which makes it new. Plus I’m pretty sure it’s on a different label. But I know no matter what I say you aren’t gonna accept it lol

You're talking about a scenario that doesn't need to happen. The context around Taylor's re-recordings makes it clear why they exist. If the fans are supporting them enough to send them to #1 it's important they get recognised.

Taylor Swift moved back her album in the US as Adele was releasing hers and who sold more: Adele, so clearly she can't beat anyone as she knew. And not once did I say I hate her, I even said I stream anti hero loads. I want a level playing field in the charts, not re-recordings classed as new albums when they are not.

She has never owned those masters in the first place.

 

By re-recording her albums, she is set to make much more money. She gets a bigger cut per stream. It's a business move through and through.

If the re-recordings aren't a true "new" album in your opinion then why are you comparing Red TV to Adele's new album?

 

If you compare both latest studio albums, Midnights sold more in the US than 30 did

 

As others have said, why are we having this conversation now when Speak Now TV is going #1!? Whether you want to re-count her previous #1 album re-recordings as new #1s or not doesn’t affect this. Even if this was a continuation chart run for the original Speak Now it would be a new #1 album for Taylor. Do people just not want these 60k+ sales to count at all or…
