Posted July 6, 20232 yr She’s announced „the loveliest time“ as a side-b that’s not a traditional side-b
July 12, 20232 yr Out in July or something? It’s been a bit confusing… haven’t seen any hype literally anywhere at all?
July 12, 20232 yr The artwork! That's mother! Out in July or something? It’s been a bit confusing… haven’t seen any hype literally anywhere at all? Her announcement post from last week got 80k likes on Instagram, making it her most liked post of the year! So for who she is targeting, there's reasonable hype. Pre-save only went up yesterday and the release is in 2 weeks time. It suggests to me that this album as a "companion project" is going to be intentionally low-key in comparison to the build up of a major studio album release (The Loneliest Time got 11 weeks of pre-orders). I hope The Loveliest Time will get physicals too, but it might be a case of them coming quite a bit later than the download/streaming release.
July 12, 20232 yr To be fair it’s only because I haven’t seen any physical announcement that I said it. Though the vinyl backlog has reduced significantly I heard? Only around 3 months behind now?
July 13, 20232 yr Hopefully in that case we'll have some physicals this year! Some more info about The Loveliest Time: The 12-track album will feature the recently released, James Ford-produced single “Shy Boy,” as well as a collection of songs that were born in isolation. For the project, Jepsen enlisted a team of her trusted musical collaborators including John Hill, Patrik Berger, Rostam Batmanglij, Kyle Shearer and more. Billboard

July 24, 20231 yr I’ve read from people online that it’s leaked in some form and is some of her best work since Emotion so I am EXCITED.
July 24, 20231 yr Author Vinyl announced on her USA store but not on her UK store… yet! The way that I was searching the European store like I was hallucinating her announcing there was a vinyl
July 24, 20231 yr I’ve read from people online that it’s leaked in some form and is some of her best work since Emotion so I am EXCITED. Her Canadian store had the digital album up for pre-order, but when people did order it, it gave them the full album to download straight away! The store changed this pretty quickly, but it was too late, it's out there in full. I'll wait until official release anyway but I've also been reading some extremely high praise for the album, I'm hyped!!
July 25, 20231 yr The way that I was searching the European store like I was hallucinating her announcing there was a vinyl On Rough Trade and Strip Joint Glasgow now! Both reliable :)
July 25, 20231 yr Author Oooh good to know. It’s not on Assai yet or either of my German sources (HHV/JPC). I’ll give it a few days and see if it trickles through
July 28, 20231 yr First listen ranking: 06.5 Anything to Be With You 09.0 Kamikaze 07.5 After Last Night > I feel like I should like this more than I do, but it's a bit of a mess overall. Who knows, maybe it's a grower! < 06.0 Aeroplanes 08.0 Shy Boy 05.0 Kollage  07.0 Shadow > Something about this reminds me of a more mellow/chilled Pinkpanthress track... just twice as long x < 08.0 Psychedelic Switch > This is a bop. It's quite late 90's/early 00's chilled disco, almost Daft Punk-y kinda sound. I like it! < 07.5 So Right 07.5 Come Over 08.0 Put It To Rest > I think this will be the biggest grower for me < 08.0 Stadium Love 04.0 Weekend Love > Noooo. This started off well and promises a melody but then the melody becomes non-existent. I don't like it </3 I love the pre-chorus so much! Then the chorus is quite literally NOTHING... unless it is the chorus I like and it just has a weird instrumental bit after the chorus? idk < Overall I find the production throughout to be a bit of a mess & quite clunky. Some songs it works but then others I'm not so sure it gels well enough. But honestly (controversial opinion alert), I've not loved an album of hers since 'EMOTION'... however, I do find some gems amongst her album tracks. Kamikaze - Put It To Rest - Psychedelic Switch are my favourite 3. It's OK and I'm sure some of you will love the album, but it's not for me and it's overall a bit of a mess (sometimes it works)
