Such a lovely interview on Heart, they seem so relaxed with each other compared to the interviews earlier in the year!
Also confirmed as "Record Of The Week" at Radio 2 all next week as well!

The chorus is catchy & definitely and ear worm

My only issue is Steps came back with something updated, this feels more 90’s

For me Scared of the Dark launched a comeback album for Steps, but they did have that often forgotten or preferred to be forgotten Christmas album in 2012, of which Light up the World was released. I know the S Club song is t a Christmas one but I liken it more to that in a way.

I’m sure if we get a proper comeback album the sound of the lead single/album will be more in line with the progression from Steps.

That’s just my take though. Appreciate people think different. :)

I don't think they were really trying to do anything updated, not with this song anyway. It's a fair expectation of any future material they may or may not put out but this is a tribute to their bandmate who passed, so its purpose is quite different to what Steps wanted to achieve with Scared of the Dark!

Agreed, I don't think this was the occasion to update/modernise the S Club sound!
Jo said that the new single was actually written 20 years ago. :o

I've been listening to S Club today and have played the new song a few time, it has really grown on me, an ear worm for sure. I think it sits really well with their old material too.

It doesn't feel like a tribute to Paul in the lyrics though, more a homage to the groups heyday... which makes sense if it was written 20 years ago. I think Goodbye by the Spice Girls clearly feels more about someone than this song does.

Regardless of that, I really like the song, a good choice!

You could tell this was an updated song from the vault!

It is cute and sweet but only of b side quality.

The support and love for the band is very touching to see. Cant wait for the your and im predicting they will be headlining mighty hoopla next year !
