gotta love the barbie weekend effect always favoring Billie <3

but Billie is clearly losing steam, so it will be Dua #1 this week, even without CD singles

We universally HATE Sundays always sinking the dance and fun!

Not a huge gap though thankfully, so still hopeful for Ms Dewey Looper x

Billie’s falling away quicker than Dua week on week so it’s very unlikely to be Dua this week and Billie next, unless Billie finds a second wind from somewhere. There’s still a small possibility it could happen the other way round but I suspect Dua has it now.

Exactly

Billie was doing > 500k 2 weeks ago

Now shes barely on 300k

I think I slightly prefer Billie's song but I much prefer Dua as an artist - the best mainstream popstar of the last 6/7 years for me, no question - so would have no issue at all seeing her get another No.1 and setting her up in the best way for the follow up to probably the best album of the decade so far.

I still don't get why people turn to the slower stuff so much on Sunday, I know it's a day of rest but it's still the weekend! Surely many people have heard songs out the previous night before and want to enjoy them - dance music always used to sell well in the shops on Saturdays and Sundays with the 'day after the nightclub' effect. We're not all just lounging in bed all day listening to MOR surely.

I don't know for sure that they have Billie on etc, but I know Spotify pushes calmer playlists on the homepage on a Sunday, as opposed to the Summer Hits and Dance stuff that pops up more on a Friday/Saturday.

I guess Saturday just does lend itself more to house party playlists, pre-drinks playlists, getting ready playlists that people just stick on and leave playing, which no doubt benefits Dua more. Even if you just stuck Hot Hits UK on at a house party, you'd most definitely skip Billie when it came on, cos it's not exactly the vibe

Without getting too philosophical in the streaming chart thread I was thinking yesterday about how our lifestyles are still affected by our tradition as a Christian country even though most of us no longer go to church. As a random example I live above the A12 and it’s basically busy with traffic 24/7, but the only time it seems to get noticeably quieter is on a Sunday morning.

So I’m guessing there’s still an element of the 7th day being a rest day in our streaming patterns haha.

I think it's the movie effect in the weekend not some Sunday calmness that pushes Billie up

Olivia is also up with the newie and that's the opposite of calm

I'm similar to Rich - prefer Billie's song but prefer Dua overall for sure. Happy with either at #1 really (though Barbie World >>>>> both x)

I would be all for Dua normally but Billie is my preferred choice song wise here!

However a 2nd #1 for Dua is overdue really all things considered!

4th surely?

Dua just does nothing for me  I'm sorry.

The song is great in context of the scene it's used in (it's really fun) but I don't care for it in context on the album, oops.

If it was a movie effect then why Dua and Onika's streams drop so much on that day but not Billie?

4th surely?

yes, but 2nd as a lead performer which may've been what Roba was thinking

This still makes no sense when you are comparing it to a song that is used in the same movie and used for longer at that
