I don't know why Shake It Off has such a bad reputation among her fanbase - I think it's one of the best pop songs in the last 10 years, and I'm definitely not a Taylor fan.

I think it just got overplayed, and Swifties are mad that even though she has better songs, it's the one song that all non-Swifties know

I for one, just think that SIO is obnoxiously irritating and annoying. I don't *mind* it from time to time, but it definitely doesn't have the replay value that the other '1989' tracks do, imo. '1989' is a near flawless album. It has 2 songs which ruin the vibe of the album for me and when I listen through the album and remove those two songs, the album feels a lot more whole and complete to me. Those two songs being SIO & 'Bad Blood' - they just seem a bit more "basic" and "throwaway" (BB to me sounds like a Katy Perry reject - almost like a slightly better version of 'Part Of Me').

However, I don't begrudge the success it had and what either of them did for Taylor. They literally propelled her from "star" to "superstar" (similar to Rihanna's trajectory when she released 'Umbrella'). So I am grateful for them. I just never opt to actively listen to them.

So beautifully poetic!

giving a boost to this... since the announcement and being up for pre-order its recieved 410k pre-orders in the us... midnights did 200k presales in 2 months :o ik us and uk are v different but i feel like thats a sign for just how big its gonna be

Interesting that 200k+ is the most popular choice so far!

I’m only one of two who has chosen 150,000 - 159,999. I do wonder if that’s too high, but as mentioned the US preorders are insanely high so it could well be the case here.

The original 1989 is midweek #5! The albums above it are quite far ahead but presumably quite frontloaded… I wonder if Taylor can overtake any of them?

I went for 200k+ I'm probably delusional but if any TV can do it, it is this one. We always knew it would be the biggest TV - but how big? Streaming numbers will be huge that week too. I'm not sure about a 2nd week at number one as it will be extremely front loaded and I don't know what's released the following week.

What are we thinking then?

I do wonder if this could actually break 150k+...
